  1. It's with me in London. You are more than welcome to view it in London this weekend or any weeknight or I might be driving it to Bournemouth on weekend of 2nd Aug.

On the oil front, never been an issue - I have never had to top it up between services (oil replaced at services). In general it doesn't look close to getting low at any point between.

    Best regards, Charlie

  2. Hi mate

Yep the P3 is the big service, oil was changed, etc. (cost was £350). It had two new front Bridgestones at the same time. Luckily, I've never experienced the well-known clicky rear-axle with my car. Two things were done under warranty - the Bose was replaced and has been perfect since, and the leather gear knob was replaced as I complained it was ageing too quickly!

I also have the 2006 model year LED rear lights on my car which really finish it off IMO.

I am living in SE London now but regularly visit Bournemouth. Unfortunately I was only in the area last weekend and won't be back down until around 6th Aug (possibly before though - on weekend of 2nd Aug - all depends on work).

Feel free to PM me if you'd like to arrange a date/time to see it.

    Cheers, Charlie

  3. Hi All, haven't posted for a while but the time has come for me to sell my P&J. I have a GT-R on order and am living in London now (not using a car) so am reluctantly selling the Zed.

It has been a fantastic car, 100% reliable. Only issue was the common Bose stereo problem, which was replaced under warranty and now works perfectly.

    Details below:

Registered June 2004. 31,600 miles. Kuro Black exterior. Rays Alloys. Black leather interior. Bluetooth phone kit. Bose sound system. Cruise control.

**Just spent £700 on 'P3' service, two brand new Bridgestones (and new wipers!)**

Full Nissan Service History. 12 months MOT. 6 months Tax.

    Fantastic condition.

    cheers mate

  5. Even I fitted my current set, its easy peasy

So did they charge you £170 for the pads and then £63+ VAT for the labour?

nope it was £170 all in. so they charged approx £100 for two pads.

i'm still a mug! at least i know for next time!

  6. my Z is in for its third year service + MOT today.

they just called and said i needed new front pads (fair enough for 25k miles old) and quoted £170 for the pair in fitting.

    :scare:

i said go ahead then read some of the prices on here. what shall i do - might be able to call and stop them?

Tell 'em they are taking the p1ss

 yep i think they are.

how much should fitting add on to the cost though?

  8. I can't comment on the Kinetix cats as we don't offer their product

However as mentioned, I have used the Ultimate Racing ones on my own car since fall 2003 (the ceramic versions), and have not had any issues. Further, we've not had any issues with any of the units we've ever sold to customers either. And if that's not enough, Ultimate now offers metal substrate cats too - for about 50% of the cost of the NISMO/Power Enterprise, etc ones.

As for the NISMO V1, there is the genuine type and the US Spec. The JDM one is a full front bumper, side skirts, and rear "spats", and is fiberglass. They also offer the V1 rear spoiler too in both US and JDM kits as an option. The US Spec one is a front lip, side skirts and rear spats and is urethane. It's been a while since I checked on the JDM kit, but I can ask- - the US spec kit is offered

Thanks mate. It was the US spec I was interested in (seems better value). Also, the urethane would surely be more durable than the fibreglass.

How about fitting - will the US spec parts fit our UK cars ok?

  9. Adam - can you still supply the Nismo version 1 bodykit? I'm after the front lip spoiler, the side skirts and the rear spats. I noticed on your website that the kit may have been discontinued?

Anyone else interested? If so, get them on the list!

  10. so if you were to pay $1000 for wheels and shipping how much is the duty wen they arrive in this country.....

    You have pm.

Beavis - hoping to import nismo aero kit parts from the US - please can you pm me too with your experiences? ;)

  11.

thanks for the advice Andy. forgive my ignorance - what is a CV joint?!! sounds pretty serious - got me worried now. only problem is, it's difficult to demonstrate to dealer as it only happens sometimes and only for the first couple of turns. the sound is more like a 'badum, badum, badum' than a clicking noise. :scare:

    Decent explanation here mate: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CV_joint

also gives you a bit on the noises they're likely to make, probably worth a read to see if that sounds like your noise

great info! thanks again mate.

time for another dealer trip

  12. i've had bose replaced, boot struts replaced and new gear knob under warranty.

    re: clicking axles...

i've noticed a clicking on mine recently, but sounds like it's coming from the front axle around the wheels. and it's only noticeable when turning close to full-lock and when I first set off.

...does this sound familiar to anyone?

Cetainly does sound familiar mate (not from the Z tho) thats the first sign of CV joint wear - get her into the dealer quick sharp. It won't fix itself and ultimately will go, leaving you with no drive (and a big embarrassment outside a packed pub on a summer night if its anything like mine!!)
