Skyline 350GT is also known as a the Infiniti G35 - it is not the same as a 350Z/Fairlady Z although they share the same engine and chassis I think...
Check out G35Driver.com for all your info needs, specifically here for the service manual.

Yes, 19's (I've just added details to my sig)

Updated pics, now with new Lexion 203 (RAYS) wheels

Still for sale

Juz - what lens did you use for these and what settings do you normally go for when at airshows? I had mixed results with a sigma 70-300...

Have a look at this site/guide..
http://www.autopia-carcare.com/inf-port ... isher.html
it looks good, but Im still dubious about a foam headed grinder.
God forbit you miss one piece of grit or a grain of sand during washing, then proceed to buff over it at 2500rpm....
If you follow the guide properly, you'll be claying the car before polishing anyway, so this won't happen
All the random orbital polisher is doing is replicating the hand motion of polishing, so you could quite easily do the same damage by hand - if your a klutz!

I can see it's a dilemma.
Unfortunately it could go either way though, insurange companies WILL try to wriggle out of a claim if they can - i.e. they may say "its not a GT, so the policy is void" etc... Other import marques and variations are well known to insurance companies, so I don't see why they can't get the facts right for the 350Z!
By the way Ricky, have you tried A-Plan insurance? They are excellent for imports... I've been using them for years and continued to use them once I got my UK Z...

The worries soon pass after using it for the first time, trust me!

I don't think there is such a thing as a JDM 350GT is there?
The JDM grades are:
Base
Version T
Version S
Version ST (nearest to Euro 'GT' spec)
Version ST Type G
Maybe you'll have better luck with insurance companies if you quote the right model?
I hope you got a chunk of money taken off the car after finding it was ragged after putting a deposit down!!!

MotoGP was by far the best race this weekend...
USGP was boooooring

knew someone that took most of the paint off their bonnet by pressing toooo hard it was on a very old clapped out shed of a vw golf but still
some small foam applicators and use elbow grease instead
Your probably thinking of a rotary polisher, not random orbit polisher. It's near on impossible to cause damage with a 7424.
Michael, I highly recommend checking out the links Blacky has added to the thread. I too was concerned until I did my homework. The results you can get with a PorterCable will be so much better than anything possible by hand.
When you progress from Meguiars NXT, I recommend Poorboys range, or something that'll last longer.

FYI - Original JDM spec suspension was revised to the improved European spec - not sure what year this happened though.

Used bundled and free/cheapware tools for the editing, nothing special really
Pinnacle is pretty good, but Sony Vegas is supposed to be one of the good ones nowdays, alongwith Adobe Premiere.
Z banner is staying put! I got that from eBay if you're after one.

Got a new toy (camcorder) and went about 'testing' its features, as you do...
Thought I'd use the Z as the subject for the 'macro' facility - thought it came out nice, so I put a little Moby for background music and uploaded it for anyone with:
1) lots of download badwidth (the file is 25mb!)
2) nothing better to do...
One 'useful' thing, this video shows (perhaps artificially) the Ebisu black speckle in the paintwork. In reality you'll not notice it as much - the camcorder really picks out the detail.
For anyone interested, the camcorder I used was the Panasonic NV-GS500.
(once the page loads, select 'original size' and WAIT for the download to finish (4 mins on a 1mb connection) - it does not stream!)
http://media.putfile.com/Ebisu-close-up
It will work eventually... just doesn't seem like its doing anything until it's finishing downloading all of the 25mb file.
If windows media player complains after the download, you may need to install the 'xvid' codec (http://codecpack.nl/klcodec272s.exe)

That's cheap! My local dealer charges £200 for a P1...
