  1. I reckon I like your style TT2Z ;)

Did you rip out electric seats for manual recaros? Did you need to replace the base frames?

I did take out the electric leather seats, and replaced with manual Recaro's.

Yes I bought some very expensive sub-frames from Recaro, but it was a breeze to swap the seats over.

  2. 6-4 here, and I fitted ok,

I took the leather out of a GT4, what does that make me ?

I put in Recaro's, much nicer place to sit, better support and grip when spirited driving takes over, and lighter than the stock seats......

Did I mention they are for sale.................

    Ian.

  3. Nice motor that, one of my neighbours has one.

Although you wouldn't know it, it lives a pampered life in a garage, comes out about twice a year to get driven / cleaned and put away.

I think yours would look even better with some black and yellow recaro's

    Ian.

  4. Seats are now out of the car.

And I have the joy of sitting on the very uncomfortable OEM ones for a week before the car goes on Friday.

Only drove it in and out of the garage and I do remember how much of a pain in the ar$e the original seats were.

Mind you I did have problems with the originals that the dealer couldn't / wouldn't fix.

Looking for as close to £800 as poss......this is with the Recaro subframes and airbag resistors.

Took me no more than 1 hour to swap them over.

  5. I take it you mean the Nordschleife / Nurburgring.

I've done a dozen or so laps in a week-end, all in the wet / damp.

If you go, don't time yourself, and then try to improve it.

You will end up with a large bill for armco repairs.

Go and enjoy it for what it is, you will be faster than some and slower than lots.

I was a passenger in a highley tuned RS4 on one lap, and my pilot was "outdriven" by a VW Sharran diesel.

Drivers skill and local knowledge make the real difference round that place.

If you go, have fun and forget the stopwatch.

    Ian.

  6. They look B)

Recaro's are the way to go, did you feel how much heavier the OEM's were.

That is a very good price for the pair.........

If only I knew where a black and yellow pair were for sale.......

    link.....

    Ian....

  7. As the car is going at the end of the month, I will be removing the following items.

Recaro "Tomcat" seats, very rare limited edition of 75 pairs ever made.

The material looks like a cardon weave.....

They are on genuine recaro subframes, if no interest in the seats, I might sell the frames seperately. I have the resistors to fool the airbag warning system.

Lots of pics in the gallery......... here's a few.......

    JWT popcharger, with the heatsheild.

its still on the car, but will take it off and clean it prior to selling,

it would need re-oiling, but you the buyer can do this, so I won't be responsible for messing up your MAF meter.

    ( SOLD paid and delivered ) Chris'I

Bluetooth phone adapter, I have the original box and instructions somewhere in the house, will dig them out.

( SOLD paid and delivered ) tm Jak

Genuine front 350z Carpet mats. drivers side show signs of wear, but nothing too major, I wil give them a good clean tonight and take a pic or two.

    ( SOLD paid and delivered ) S1HNK

Homemade tonneau cover, covered in material used to cover sub-woofer boxes, don't know what its offical name is, but a good match for the trim in the car. £ 20 o.n.o.

I'm sure there is something else, but will have a think and update this thread with pics / prices / etc a.s.a.p.

I'm not able to attend the wales run, but could pop along to the Chester Services start point if anyone wants to save on postage or have a look at the seats in the flesh...........

  8. do these have airbags ? if not would they affect your insurance ?

I declared my aftermarket seats to the insurance,

Made no change to the price of the premium, but they said if I hadn't and tried to make a claim, then you could have issues.

Either way, they would only pay for the OEM seats to be replaced if the aftermarket ones were damaged.

Fine by me, as the OEM are very expensive..... don't you just love the logic of insurance companies.

    Ian.

PS mine will be up for sale early next month....... complete with Recaro subframes....... :teeth:

  9. My Recaro Tomcats, on genuine recaro subframes, will be for sale in MAY / JUNE.

But I could be persuaded to part with them early.

They are a little bit colour dependant..... Black or Yellow need only apply....

  10. Everyday use for me too, coming up to 36k in just under 3 years.

( need to get out of the office more !!! )

I've had mountain bikes on a rack on the back of it, a few times, including a run to Scotland.

Even used it to transport an 8ft xmas tree, most of it was in the car.... :teeth:

Apart from eating tyres, and having to change the seats its not missed a beat.

  11. You can get the resistors from Maplins.

As you mentioned, you have to do this, or none of the airbags will work.

I will search for previous threads and get the details of the resistor.

Edit......... 2.0 to 2.2 ohm resistor

    Ian.

What seats are you going for ?

I know a pair that will be for sale soon......... :teeth:

  12. 1978 Opel Manta

    Good taste that man.........

Drove my brothers early 1.9 Manta ( the stingray / batmobile one )

Then he moved up ? to the 1976 Manta 1.6 SR. Which I blew up, and had to buy. Fixed it and had that for a few months before getting a 2.0 Berlinetta, and then onto a 2.0 GTE.

You have now put me on a mission to find some pics of the Mantas....

First write off, a 205 Diesel it was a Company pool car, which was 3 weeks old. :surrender:

  13. You'll get asked what it is from time to time.

asking me why I had a map of Australia in my window but thought it wasnt quite the right shape...:lol:

I've had the exact same Q a few times......

If you have a whiff of petrol in your blood, you HAVE to make this trip at least once.

  14. 140 showing on the clock whilst on the autobahn, so legal then. :teeth:

125 ish on the mountain section of the TT couse in an Audi TT. So legal again.

Two way traffic, no crash barriers, sheep on the side of the road, and no straight bits to speak of, the bends / diviations do come fast at that speed. ( I have a vid of part of this it anyones wants a look )

And a copper went past the other way and never blinked. :p

And I didn't do 130 ish on a RD350LC on the M62 many years ago.

But it did seize-up solid, flat spotting the rear tyre over a couple of hundred yards. :scare:

  15. Ian,

Where is the link to where you actually bought them for and model no's etc please?

The 1st Auto main page is just coming up blank at the mo!

    CLICKY

    20" x 1 & 18" x 2

After refitting them properly, I didn't push them into the arm hard enough  They now work a treat.

I have taken some pics but my gallery is full, so will get them hosted elsewhere over the week-end.

They do seem to work better than the old ones, but they were on the way out for a few weeks.

I'm not sure if they are worth the £33 for a set of 3 but, I'm not sure how much the PIAA ones are ?
