Hi all,
My car overheated this weekend while sat in traffic, I was able to pull over just in time to see it vent. After letting her cool down and topping up the coolant, i was able to drive home (although the Orange Engine Light was on).
Checking the car i've deduced that the fans are not operating. ie leaving the running on the drive, temp gradually raising, but fans not kicking in, and then today i performed the Auto Active Test, i could hear the relays clicking etc but the fans did not operate. I want to perform some further tests, but so far it seem likely that the fans have failed given all the similar hits i find when googleing.
What amazes me however is that Nissan US extended the Warranty for the fans because of this issue, extending them to 84K/7 year. Why is this not the same here in the UK, don't the cars come from the same factory? I know there are soem slight differences, but surely the fans are the same. if so Nissan have acknowledged there is an issue and we should be equally covered?
I'll be ringing my dealer in the morning, i'm not expecting to get anywhere, but i can at least try. Anybody know where i can get a set of replacement fans/motors and how difficult is it to replace?
cheers

Well Ferrari cant exist without an F.I.A in FerrArI
and don't forget Kimi been released while his electronic 'lollipop' was red, causing an injury to a mechanic.

I had been with privilege for two years, this year the renewal was ridiculous, so changed to Admiral. Taken out a multicar policy, insurance is around the £380 mark
Don't know how mod friendly they are though.
How much of a discount would you get if you replaced your alloys with steel wheels? Or would they just class that as a mod and charge you more anyway. Its a rip off . most the time they wont even payout on the extra.
And why oh why do they ask for a current value! I mean they only pay out what they deem is the market value, but will quite happily take your money if you think your cars is more than they do.

Just love the color, good review, although......
"Finally, the whole unit has been lowered by 15cm to drop the car's centre of gravity. "
15 cm, surely they mean mm

A fellow Bournemouth Zedster, getting quite common these days
Where abouts are you? PM me if you prefer. I'm not a million miles from the shopping centre with a dodgy car park.
I'll keep my eyes open for you, and will try and give you a wave/flash. You may see me around, in either my yellow Z (or most likely the other halfs C2 when out shopping )

Ok, used the search button but not been able to find an answer
Whilst my zed was up on the ramps, the mechanics pointed out to me that my rears are practically slicks now Must of been when I was tearing up the Top Gear track
Anyway, I now need two rear tyres. So I have the age old question: Which do I buy? The fronts have 6 mm on them so I'm not looking to change them. I don't really want to buy bridgestones if I can help it but I don't want to buy a whole set of tyres when I only need two.
I know that people have experienced problems when mixing tyre brands but is this a problem when mixing particular brands? I've already PM'd Andy for a price on a pair of Toyo rears, has anyone had Toyo's on the rear and 'stones on the front?
Any suggestions?
Im in exactly the same situation, except had a rear blow out on the M3 last week, been looking this weekend for a new rear set, only want the the rears for now and replace the stones in a month or two. looking at PS2. Otherwise if gs-d3's were availbable in the front size, would get them, used them on a previous car, the grip was amazing.
Any other suggestions?

Yeah this is also just the type of thing i'd be intereseted in.

Whats the best way of routing power into the car from the battery. I want a clean, always live source.
Been thinking about installing a car PC, want to go down teh DC-DC route rather than an inverter DC-AC. Looking at the opus power supplies.
Also looking at a touch screen. What size is teh cubby hole? And can you use teh std cubby, or has eveyone opted for the Satnav Version.
Cant decide whether to go for a windows PC, Linux or even a Mac. Possibly the new intel Macs, and have all 3 running on it.
