  1. If you were using this to control an adventure game for example, how would you turn your character around 180 degrees? If you physically turn round, then you wont be looking at your telly anymore...

In a similar sense how do you detect that you want to walk through the game , you can hold a gun and point it but how do you fire it. ( dont suggest shouting bang bang ).

One approach would be to have the a controller in 1 hand and use one side of it ( analogue stick and shoulder buttons) - bit of a pain to hold.

Going from a joypad to the wiimote introduced some interesting dilemas and the natal will make people think of new interesting ways to do things.

  2. I have one of the old tomtoms , its fits snug into the central compartment. You have to remove the central console , cut a little hole in the back of the compartment to drop the wire, this then goes behind the stereo and the controls for the air blowers ( too early - need coffee ) and the it plugs it the 4 way cig lighter power point which is stealth installed to the front cig lighter . All I see is a red button in the cig lighter ( got a cheap £5, 4 way thing from halford ).

The tomtom is fine , but it can lose the signal at times , but hey , its not on show and no mountings on the windscreen. :D

On my TomTom the power lead comes into the back , so no need for the docking unit ( It would not fit if connected)

  3. roflmao :yuck: All yours for the handsome price of £17K buy it now - o yeah thats a real bargain for 54000 on the clock.

if I dont sell it now it will do too many miles

I recently heard of person looking at imports with only 4000 on the clock for that price. Ok it might not have all the QUALITY gear on as this but we all know which one we would choose.

Is a nizmo exhaust better than a nismo one :headhurt:

  4. For one of the games I worked on , I came up with a 3d system for controlling the menus and gesture recognition system. The controller was a pair of gloves which each had a wire down to the controller. The problem was accurracy , the angle it could read was limited ( if you moved you hands left or right as the wire ws not straight it lagged ) , but the big problem was the wires , you could move you hands down quicker than it could spool the wire.

You could pick , drag drop , scroll , do all the normal stuff you can do with a mouse , but by waving your hands in front of your face. It was ideal for a fighting game :boxing:

It was a cool system, but limited by the hardware and a simpliar system had to be used

  5. almost right , but you maths for import tax is wrong - you pay import tax on the total cost of the wheels and shipping

    you had (1500*1.1 +450) , it should be (1500+450)*1.1

    2100 2145

    Hehe whats $45 between friends.

On deliveries in the EU I don't think pay import tax but still VAT.

Also for your euro wheels you will need to factor in the cost of shipping.

A couple of months ago I ordered some Time Attack wheels from Envy ( here in the UK) for the reasons you have stated and I believe it will be cheaper. For a set of wheels only its $3080 = £1660 , then theres the cost of shipping them over here and taxes etc. Envy did me a great deal of £2050 and that includes center caps and some lug nuts ). So i am now waiting , optimistic date is they arrive next week. droool

  6. Its almost that easy , first of all you need to add shippping costs for the courier and and then once its in England you you have VAT and import duty. Also the courier ( for example DHL ) might charge you administration charges.

    ($1600 + $200 ) * (1.1 * 1.175 = 1.2925) = $2326 = £1,253.59

I think the last time I got stuff from the states instead for the imprt and and vat at almost 30% , it was about 22%. But being on the pessimistic side means that you wont be caught short.

The price is not that bad , looking here www.mynismo.com its not a bad price on ebay

  7. I Picked up my new gleaming black 2006 GT Roadster, Went Straight Home to Lock in Garage to read instruction book, Did'nt think i had headlamp wash coz no visible jets, So pressed button under steering wheel for a laugh to confirm it's a blank. Guess Wat i covered my new gleaming bonnet, wings & screen in piles of foaming mess. Gutted ! Wat will the missus say when she gets ome. Wat a Walley.

You are talking about the cars washers right , are you sure you did not get too excited B):headhurt:

  8. To fit the front wheels I think you need spacers , the auction says

    Fronts are 19x8.5 offset 21

I thought you needed 22 to clear brembos.. ( have been know to be wrong)

I'm glad he polished the wheels to sow them at their best , pity he could not have cleaned the polish of the rubber. Hmm just looked at his web site , the piccies are from there - so they might not be upto date.

Also 6 months wear and tear , he says theres plenty of tread left on the wheels , but is that 2mm , 3 mm etc ...

  9. Thanks guys. Much appreciated. Just one (maybe stupid) question? How did these old Nokia phones connect to that cradle? As I can't see any method of connection (from phone to cradle). Was it GPRS or BT?

Its not a nokia cradle. Its a generic adapter. Onto this the cradle fitted , again like the BT one its was about £80 to 100. There was if memory serves me right about 4 different cradles which could handle a variety of OLD mobile phones.

  10. They have done the same treatment in the estate where my mum lives. There is more gravel off the roads than on it , and to make matters worse , just around the corner a piece of the new road has lifted off.. The road were bare before and in a bad state, but this is even worse.

  11. Pah! - 37 - Ive got a 42 downstairs. And for the proper jumps when playing Doom3, or motion sickness in PGR, you cant beat the 84" upstairs.

But then again Im a sad film and game geek with a belly to prove it.

I think I will be getting a new latop, as I too like FPS games on the PC with a mouse - I also like the strategy games too, which never quite work on a console.

But an xbox 360 keeps shouting at me

That all , downstairs I have a 50 inch plasma TV . You know its too big , when somebodys head on TV is bigger than your own !
