After a test last night, the noise occurred briefly, but definitely moved forward in 4th gear. Slight smell of clutch too afterwards.
Reassuring to know that I'm not alone, and nothing too serious to worry about then.
Thanks

Thanks I'll give it a try tonight and let you know.

Definitely wan't wheel spinning.
Thanks for the link to the thread, useful to know what the possible cost will be.
I haven't noticed any slipping revs in forward gears yet, so maybe just warning signs at the moment.

Whilst reversing out of a road with a slight gradient, I heard a whizzing sound and experienced a loss of traction (no burning smell).
On a second occasion, reversing up onto inspection ramps, I had a similar experience (again no burning smell).
Are these the first signs of the dreaded clutch fail? The car has done 57k miles.
Any advice greatly appreciated

I can second that - I had the car parked up there for 3 days, without any problems (apart from the £45 cost to get out).

Good luck Jay - it's my popcharger on eBay. I was having a sort out in the garage. It's in good condition!

Excellent -thank you. I guess my searching skills are not up to scratch.

I just noticed today a clunking noise which appears to be coming from the NS front wheel when making a right turn.
No noise when doing a left turn.
Has anyone any similar experience, or able to advise?

I have a 910 sat in the cubby hole on a USB sync cradle - which allows the power cable to be used and fits neatly in the space.
Whilst I haven't yet done it, the plan is to run the 12v cable behind the dash and connect it to the rear of the 12v socket in the passenger footwell.

Yeah finally spotted
Were you in a Zed? I don't recall seeing one through my sleepy eyes

His insurance company will get hit for around £360 per day. Make sure liabilty is accepted otherwise the costs will come back to you.
Astin Martin is also in the same class of replacement vehicle if you can't get on with the F430.

I reckon it may be a 55 plate, WX55 - - - Just a guess as I drove it for an accident hire company earlier in the year. Let me know. They are rapid but not too comfortable.
-
I completely agree. I had the opportunity to drive a F430 from Birmingham to London, and a 550 maranello from London to Edinburgh. Give me the Zed for anything over 10 miles any day!

I can make the 14th Oct

Great idea - count me in too!

Not me, but that's my local

Mathys - here's the chrome grill I have, after the strips fell off in the heat.

Definitely surprised. I was in a World of my own and only noticed a yellow panel. It was only when I looked in the rear view mirror, I noticed it was a zed.
Thanks again. I'll keep my eyes open for you again, on my daily commute.
UY does look cool

Definitely jealous. I spied that dealership from on the train one day whilst travelling up to collect a F430.
I can vouch for the Bentley Continental GTs, but have no idea of the Lambo. It is the one car on my 'must drive' list.
Am sure it will be an experience!

Thankfully it wasn't mine, but recently picked up a Ferrari 550 having just been serviced. Labour alone was £4k.
Ultimate pi$$ take was £120 to remove the headlamp to access and clean the horn, and then another £60 to reassemble it!
Roll on my P3 next month at the Nissan stealers...

Wow. I don't see any for weeks, and then suddently I'm follwed by a sunset onto the M3 and a kind Yellow zed lets me join the A322 around 6pm

Hopefully attached
