  1. Hello mate, thanks for the confirmation! Good to know I'm not crazy It does make me want to do something to protect it though. The car is in great condition, must not have seen many rainy days, but it's going to get ruined now because I do drive in the rain! I did find a company, said they'd steam clean it, use salt remover, clear off any rust they do find and then use rust converter, then do underbody coating... so far so good, the weird bit was they started talking about cavity injection of wax into sills and door pillars and stuff, never heard of that before! It sounds like it could either be good or a complete waste of time/even bad (what does that do to any electronics in these areas?). Thing is I really want to go nuclear and make sure this works, rather than just trying to get under there myself with a can of waxoyl or something.
  2. I bet this thread title had you thinking "...what" Hey! New 350z owner here, in need of a bit of advice! I've been lurking this site and others for a while trying to learn my way around the cars and so far have been able to answer all my questions that way, but since buying a 350z last week, there's one thing I can't figure out no matter how much I search, no matter how many videos I look at, etc; and that's whether the rear wheel arches are meant to have plastic protectors/liners inside them like the front ones do! I'll admit it was something I missed off the checklist when buying the car (despite spending a lot of time inspecting the fenders and wheels themselves!). There were no problems on the test drive but once I bought the car and took it home, going over one or two roads in my area I can hear flecks of tarmac/debris pinging off the metalwork of the wheel arches as I drove. When I went to investigate, sure enough, there's no plastic liners over most of the interior of the rear arches; only the rearmost 1/3 perhaps, the side just before the boot, which I presume is to complete the arch on that side. Is it normal for the rest to be uncovered? If so then... great, I'm not insane! I literally cannot find any mention, nor picture, nor video of rear arch/fender liners/protectors anywhere, so that would make sense. Front ones, sure I found those everywhere. Even riffling through the service manual I can find those in the bodywork section (Exterior & Interior/ei.pdf: page 21 "FENDER PROTECTOR")... But not rears! So someone please tell me I'm not going crazy and nothing's fallen off my car!
