Hi,

Bit of a random one but found this cap(?) sitting at the bonnet release in the engine bay.  Anyone have an idea what it is and where its from?

I work for an Insurer and we ask where is it Usually kept, don't see any issues. If there was the worst they would probably do is change any additional amount that would have been due if this was what was advised, but going on what you have already said, there wouldn't have been an additional amount due.

Nice work.  Has your car been Mapped, been told when i DeCat it will be needed, i know yours still has cat but just wondered as O2 sensor is before ur Cats now.  Have u had any EML or have the spacers ment you avoided this?

Also how did u find the titanium wrap? did you soak it before hand?

Been looking at these with the matching rears.  Good pads but it doesn't say what make the discs are?  Anyone used these before?

Yeah want to get the sense of speed, can't wait ad love to got to the tt but its hard to get anywhere to stay etc.

Just came across this build and have to say car looks stunning!

You have had ur hydrodipped parts for quite a while now, how well have they stood up?  Any cracks or issues with it at all?

Select are OK, Gateway have good deals sometimes but i didn't find them that great at getting back to me  When i got my Leon Cupra i went through a garage was best deal by far so might be worth checking what you can get locally.

Love the wrap and wheel colour!!!! personally i don't like the polished lip on the wheels but everyone has their own preference. What colour is the wrap, and is the bits on the front bumper(sorry don't know what they are called) the same or is that a different wrap?

I know for me the sound of these cars is the biggest thing so i can't wait! When I'm buying anything just now its like..... do i need this or could it go towards an exhaust

Got mine fitted yesterday at Costco for £117 each so was chuffed with that!  It came up as W for speed rating but the Y's seem to be better rated so went for them aswell.

I don't use anything, used to use a Road Angel years ago but generally i know where they are that i may drive by and in more unfamiliar areas i would just be more cautious.  But thats good to know as I'm going to the NW200 in May

What tattoos do you have? Any motoring related or even better zed related?

I have piston and anchor on my leg (which i going to be a half sleeve) to two stars on shoulders that i only kind regret!

Generally i am only 10 mins away from the train station so day to day my car doesn't even get up to temp ( i know the worst thing to do) but other than that when its warm i drive as fast as the road or traffic allow obviously slow for speed cameras, and 30 roads etc.

I think it was just a joke SeraTaru don't take it to heart.

I done 120 on the way home from buying my zed, speed sensibly and as often as you like, enjoy the car for what it was built to do....... just don't get caught1

Next on the list is -

Exhaust - I'll be going for a custom system cat back at this stage - i can decat as i have friendly MOT place, but don't want to limit myself yet.  I like the look of the ark grip, so will be going with something like that with burnt tips as i like the look of these as well.  But not sure what i want sound wise yet, I am going to Simon who a few on here will be aware of, he is a wizard but will just talk it over to see what i should go for, i originally said i wanted it to sound like the standard exhaust, just a bit louder, but tbh i have had cars i couldn't really do anything to for over 10 years (lease cars etc) so i am now thinking i want it to be ridiculously loud, and my neighbours will hate me  

Headlight tints - just ordered this yesterday chameleon tint, i am not great with wraps etc, but was really cheap so will give it a go and see if i manage it.

Alloys - these were refurbed just before i bought it only one alloy had a mark and another wheel was a bit buckled before the refurb and wasn't fixed.  I have since embarrassingly enough curbed one as well and i think i will go a bit out there with the colour when i get these so looking at a kinda pearl blue colour (open to opinions on this)  but will probs be after summer by the time i get these now.

Strut - When its in getting alloys done i will be getting the zed rear strut brace painted the same colour of the wheel as i hate just having it standard silver.

Arches - There is a very small amount of rust starting on the rear arches so i know i should get this sorted sooner rather than later, the the guy at the bodyshop was amazed how good they are fore the age of the car, so at the moment just making sure these are totally free from debris when i am cleaning as obviously thanks why these suffer from this and maybe get it done next year.

Front bumper - Like all our cars the bumper suffers from chips etc, the car has had this resprayed before and tbh i would say poorly so will get this sorted at some point and at the same time get rid of the current reg plate holder smoothed and then a bracket for Japanese style replacement.

Plenum Spacer and Remap - Again this is just at some point but props into next year the way things are going will be getting plenum spacer and a remap done at some stage, i know the plenum is easy to sort but wouldn't do it myself so will just get it done at the next service.

thats about it for plans at the moment but if i will the lotto it would def be a lot longer list!

So after a good few months of living with the zed, I'm still loving it!  The sound has too be the biggest thing for me and although i haven't done the exhaust yet it is next on my to do list.

The car went in for service in January so, usual bits and had the spark plugs and gearbox oil done as well.  The banana arm went a few weeks before the service, so got that taken care off at the same time, the knocking noise was terrible so glad to have that taken care of.  Also changed out the interior and Reg plate lights to LED's makes such a diffrence.

This month it went in for MOT and passed with flying colours just noted the two front tyres need done, which i knew anyway, and so finally got some decent rubber on the front yesterday (Michelin pilot sport 4).  Still budgets on the back but to be honest i like doing skids so ok with this just now 

Today has been spent giving a very good wash and wax and its looking pretty good again in the sun!  You all like pic's so here they are - 

Pop up headlights are the best, why don't you get them anymore!!!!!!

Looking for opinions here.  Have a pretty standard 350 at the moment and thinking about an exhaust.  I happen to live pretty close to someone who is amazing at custom exhausts so will be looking at this rather than off the shelf. 

My question is if i get a full custom with decat, is this likely to limit the resale of the car or are these kind of things expected?  Although i have somewhere that will get it through the MOT that's not always going to be the case with potential future buyers, and from what I read on here is becoming a bit of a problem with current owners as well.

I'm not sure what my plans for the car are at the moment, whether i will keep long term or sell within a year or so, so although i want to have something louder, and if decat would release more power, i'm still not sure what would be the best option?
