  1. Hi all, A few general issues with the rear suspension on my 350. Car was put in for mot yesterday and failed on a few things (nsf banana arm bush was knackered and rear brake lines corroded) which were sorted out. Seems she’s in a poor state that I want to get right. However whilst having these things sorted a few other issues cropped up. list of issues. Ns rear shock weeping and needs replacing, no idea how it was missed on the mot. wheel alignment is out on all four wheels, however they (being the local tyre fitters) couldn’t loosen the rear camber or toe bolts (even with a lot of heat) to adjust without risking putting it off the road, so have left for now. my questions are these, 1. Looking for reasonably priced Oem standard shocks to replace, have no real need of uprated shocks, after looking around (and getting quoted stupid prices from dealer) I’ve not really come up with anything, are there any oem part sellers that can provide the shocks? 2. I need to get new rear toe and camber bolts before the 4 wheel alignment can be done, everywhere I look it comes up with the spc bolt kits but this requires “adjustments” to the mountings, is this really the best option when not planning to modify? thanks in advance for any help.
  2. Thank you very much for this info. The coupe had full service history but at mostly independent dealers whilst the drop top had full Nissan service history so what your saying would tally up.
  3. Thanks for the info so far guys. I'm not sure what I want to be frank. If I want soft top or hard top. And with both these cars it's kinda a tough choice for me. I do miss the days when I had a Lotus with the soft top but having just come back from a r32 with plenty of space and a hard top it makes the desicion difficult. What I was kinda interested to hear was if there would be any big difference other than the roof, but given that no ones yet mentioned anything then I assume they are pretty much the same, just one you can get rid of the roof for less space in the cabin. Thanks again guys been very helpful.
  4. Unsure on the exact problem with the roof. It did open and fold but just kinda ran out of energy to fold the last few bits and the back to close back down. Maybe a duff motor if it has more than one but it's a guess really. Would of been about that temperature at the time of viewing. But to be fair the dealer came out upfront and told me about it as I asked if the car was ok.
  5. Hi all So I'm currently having a bit of a crisis in terms of choice of motor. Now I am looking at getting a 350z and I have two close to me. I have been and seen both only driven one so far due to the fact I was late earlier and the guy had an appointment to get to. So here are the choices. Car A. I have driven and sounded good, no mechanical gremlins detected other than the roof not folding all the way that the dealer has said he will fix before delivery. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609167828845 Car B. I have seen however wouldn't start due to battery being discharged, it did turn over briefly and no ominous noises. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609177851738 So my question is if it were your choice of the two, which would you go for? (Assuming the test drive I have asked for with car B goes ok later this week) TIA Dougy.
  6. Thanks for the info. Will pass that onto the dealer. To be fair he seems a nice guy. I've dealt with a few dealers and this is actually one that seems genuine in that he wants the car to be right for me. But as you say I'll be waiting for the fix before splashing the cash.
  7. Hi all First things first hi to everyone, I'm John but known as Dougy. Looking to purchase a Zed in the very near future. Have been reading through various pieces on the internet and the forum. I'm happy that a zed is what I want and just have a question about the potential car I have in mind. I popped up to a local dealer which has a very solid looking zed. Details can be found on the auto trader site here. http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201609167828845 It has a small issue with the roof not folding all the way but the dealer has agreed that if I am interested in purchasing the car then he will sort it out before delivery. My question is does anyone know about this car? Just really checking to see if it has some sort of history with the club or not?
