Hello all, proud new owner of a 2006 350z GT Roadster and so far I'm very impressed. It's only been a week but I've not stopped grinning like a Cheshire cat.
the one and only isissue I have is with the roof, whwhich I knew about when I bobought it but has so fafar has be stumped.
I've read about the 5th bow motor issue so I took out the 5th bow motor and replaced the brushes as this seems to be the most common issue. Wasn't as difficult as I thought and when I connected the motor to a 12v power supply it buzzed into life. Happy days.
One thing I noticed before taking the motor out was when the motor was plugged in it didn't make any noise when I pressed the electric roof switch, I assumed it was because the brushes were worn out and the motor wouldn't work anyway.
However, before I put the motor back in place I put a multimeter to the plug (that goes into the motor) and there was no reading, which I think means no power is getting to the motor .
I've checked the relay in the engine bay, found the fuse box inside but I don't think there's fuse for the electric roof there.
So I'm back to square one, with a refurbished motor
Would anyone have any other suggestions I could try?
Thanks all.
Have you tried Bridging the switch on the brake pedal before testing with multimeter ?

Hi guys,
I have had a good look in my owners manual for my 2011 370z and done a search on this site but cant seem to find the answers I am looking for. Can you play films via the USB port? If so, what format ... divx/mpeg/avi/mkv? Also, what format do the pictures need to be in to show as images as jpeg doesn't get recognised ;/
stab in the dark here, ok if the 370 is using the Clarion standards movies will be in divx via usb or sd card, as for pictures it should recognise jpeg, is your usb formated using FAT as FAT32 & NTFS will not be recognised.

On US models there is no auto on off for headlights but I believe there is a system in place for battery saving that will shut down electrical system if stuff is left on.

Thanks for the replies. I think I will go for sgs replacements - an affordable solution!
Thanks
David
I have used SGS for a few things, found them to be really good on customer service.

Hi Im Looking for 2005 wv2 gunmetal grey boot lid for my 350z roadster.
(Ideally wv2 colour)

Cheers.
Yeh, thats pretty much what I had in mind
Could aly bolts be used?
Ally bolts could be. but would become compromised by road salt and weaken, better off using Stainless and greasing them up, or just use a stainless plate for the project. TBH the way the undertray and bonnet are fitted leave a lot to be desired the only reason the plastic rips is due to cheap ferrous fasteners being used in the first place, One might have believed a little more thought would of gone into what materials were used.
-
Make a Aluminium Bracket, drill and tap 2 holes into it either side, not forgeting to drill the main hole as well, drill holes in the bumper either side to match up with the holes in the ally plate and secure using stainless bolts, make sure to grease the bolts or you will get a reaction between the ally and stainless.

Hi guys, has anyone used one of the these on the stock bose system with a different HU?
PAC-ROEM NIS2 Active System Adapter for Nissan
yup I have, it is the only way to run a aftermarket HU correctly with the factory BOSE/CLARION amps, it rectifies the impedance/voltage differences between the HU and amps, doing a wiring hack is ok if you want to overdrive the amps and blow your brains out. I got mine direct from autoleads along with the standard non bose HU iso adapter, you will need both if you source from Autoleads, 5 minutes plug and play Perfect.
