  1. that said, if anyone is reading this and feeling generous, i'd really like a drive in something with a bit more power now! i'd love a go in a track prepped M3 with twice the power that I have now and see how well my slow speed skills translate to an actually fast car, or a car that's actually set up to be sporty from the start, rather than a soft family saloon with a moderately large engine in.

I took out the driver of an M3 and then he took me out at Cadwell. Standard engine but stripped out, running on slicks and he was an awesome driver. Unbelievable. Can't use words to describe how much better it was than my 2.8 R33 GTR with 550lb ft of torque. such a well balanced car.

  2. Both. A slower car would have been better. Any mistakes are big ones as it was pretty fast. Craner curves at donington in 4th gear was pretty fast when the back end was sliding and needed more gas for the 4wd to help.

I had the skyline as a road car to start with as I guess most Z owners do. You pick a car and then track it rather than pick your car for track use most of the time.

  3. it came in a couple of days and works.

came with a cd with the software mentioned on here on as .apk files but I had already downloaded Torque Pro.

It seems ok but at 3.99 I am not complaining. Obviously a proper interface that costs a lot more may have more functionality and reliability.

pairing code was 1234 and name was ODB2. plugged it in blindly in the dark which was the hardest bit! just google an image of where it goes (under petrolflap pull) and feel for the pins.

    Hope this helps.

  4. As a new owner (last four weeks), some good advice given earlier.I went to look at a car advertised on here that looked mint in the photos and (IMHO) was not mint when I looked at it. I travelled a long way to see it and was very disappointed. Found another fifty miles from home, 85k miles, good history and very good condition. Lots of receipts. Quite tidy under the bonnet which I always look for on adverts as a really dirty engine with loads of leaves and grime is not a good sign. I intend to give my a really good clean under the bonnet.

Don't rush, take your time and look at a few.

this is worth waiting for. I have gone from a 600bhp skyline to a near standard Z and I love it. I look forward to driving home from work on the days I take it in. On a sprint track I was not so excited, but that is not what I got the car for.

I am trying to convert all my friends to Z owners!

Awesome car. Bargain at the price.

Lastly, read all of the buying guides on here.

  5. Dont sell it!

Don't forget to say how well it competes with H1 kawasakis!

utterly awesome car. Done many events with Graham.

    Hey Dave, how you doing?

Sadly I must..... thinking R34 next year ;)

It would have competed even better this year, 50bhp more, better tyres, better launch control, better gearbox software :)

I have replaced the 33 with a ....350Z and loving it!

  6. I am in Derby but do have quite a busy diary. Looking forward to some meets after changing to a 350z from a R33GTR. Where are you thinking of having the meet? I used to run the bubble meet for about 8 years at the Bubble Inn, Stenson and still do a small reunion one in December.

  7. My second post on the forum......

Lovely display of cars. I organised the GTROC cars (only 10 of 17 turned up although we has some cars on track). Parked quite close to Amy's mint car :notworthy: We were behind the show and shine.

I had a good look around the cars as I am selling my R33 GTR (had three GTRs in 15 years) and there is only one car to replace it with. One off here!

Hoping to have the GTR gone in a couple of weeks and a 350z in time for JAE.

Don't be too hard on the organisers. I have supported Simon and Zoe since the conception of Nissan Day donington and this was a big jump for them. A tenner is not bad for a day out watching a GT3 car fly around a track.

There was quite a good viewing area behind the bouncy castles (where my kids were most of the day) looking out onto Tarzan.

Really hope to be posting up some pics on here of a zed that I own soon.
