  1. Finally got round to buying a dash cam,

It comes with both a plug in for the 12 volt power outlet and the hardwire kit,

I can't decide whether to simply plug the plug into the 12 volt power outlet under the glove box and tell passengers to watch their legs on it,

Or hardwire it in for a neater finish, now I'm no auto electrician but I have seen these piggyback fuse connectors,

So I'm thinking of perhaps piggybacking off 1 of the 10amp fuses with say a 5 amp fuse for the dash cam.

Has anyone hardwired a dash cam this way or any advice on doing this.

  2. Just fixed my boot using these instead of penny's, works perfectly now!

    Good idea 370ZDerby,

I've got some square pieces of rubber I will cut them to shape and give it ago.

  3. Have now discovered car was serviced at 950 miles in 2012 then 4900 miles in June 2015,thats it !!People with low milers seem to think it's not worth servicing every year, now well overdue one in my book!

    Really annoys me that does,

it baffles me that someone is happy to pay £20k-£30k on a car then scrimp on a few hundred quit on giving it a service when it's due.

  4. Well I listened to the helpful tips and recommendations and spent the morning giving my Zed a good Polish,

Then applied a good coating of Meguiars NXT Generation Tech 2.0 wax,

Used the Meguiars as you can use in direct sunlight,

But the Polish is what made the difference.

    Thanks.

  5. End of reg was EPU.

Nope, different one. Seen it again in the opposite direction. Perhaps someone local has bought it recently as I do the same route everyday same time and not seen it before.

I've also spotted this 350z a few times around Coleshill,

Twice parked on a drive and once behind me,

You definitely hear him before you see him.

  6. Hiya RobZed,

I've just had my 4 year service done on my Zed,

I went to Nissan in Leamington and found them to be OK,

I'm nearer to Birmingham but all the Birmingham Nissan dealerships have rubbish Google reviews,

    Leamington has atleast decent reviews,

I told them not to wash it which they didn't, they gave me a courtesy car for the day and 12 month's Nissan Breakdown cover.

I also clocked the mileage when I left it,

It had an extra 2 miles on the clock when I collected it, so really hadn't gone out of Leamington, so no long test drive and excuse to thrash it.

I'm not saying they are going to be any better than anyone else after using them only once but may be worth a look.

  7. Maybe I can try to convince my GF to have a spontaneous trip to the Ring...

Go steady mentioning "Ring" around a girlfriend,

Mine would be straight out to book the vicar and order a cake....

  8. I bought my Zed in April,

While i was sorting out my old car for sale I'd spent about 4 months watching what was for sale and the prices, the prices seem reasonable but it really depends on the condition of the car.

From what I've read the privately owned Zed sounds a better car, claiming no dents or damage, better mileage and full Nissan Service History,

But spending that kind of money privately can be more of a gamble unless you've got some knowledge of cars,

with out seeing them it's impossible to say which is better,

If there not to far away I'd see them both.

  9. I'm currently using Meguiars NXT Generation Tech car wax 2.0 on my Monterey Blue Zed,

I find the finish OK which does last quite a few months,

I'm no expert and I'm new to this bothering to keep my car shiney and my main aim is to get the deepest shine on my Zed,

What do you guys use or what wax would you recommend to give me that real deep shine on my colour Zed.

  10. Hiya RobZed,

I had a look at the video on the SUNTEK website of there protection wrap,

    Seems like good stuff,

Like you I'm getting a lot of stone chip damage to the front bumper,

Can you keep us updated how it's going.

  11. Hiya guys,

    I've got a 2012 Automatic which I'm loving,

I've only ever owned 1 other auto so got a quick question,

When I'm stationary and I take my foot off the brake pedal my Zed starts to edge forward even before I've started to use the accelerator,

Is this normal for a zed as the other auto I had never did this,

Can be a pain at traffic lights if I don't judge it right as I have to hold the brake till the lights actually change.

  12. Thanks guys,

I finally got it to play music from my phone via the Bluetooth,

It seems the previous owner had changed the Bluetooth settings to call audio only.

I also transferred my music on to a memory stick which I put in the USB slot, that plays through the aux option in the stereo.

    DJan check your Bluetooth settings,

  13. I cant believe that many of these cars are selling for anything close to their advertised prices , 350's and 370's generally seem overpriced imo

I guess your going to always get your dreamers and chancers, but,

I've had my 370z for about 6 weeks now and was watching the prices since the start of the year,

Compared to the other car i was watching which was an Audi TTS (until i saw sense) you can get a lot newer lower mileaged 370z than the Audi,

If you want to see really overpriced cars check out the price of The Jeep Wranglers which was what I owned before my Zed, ive seen standard 2002 Wrangler TJ's advertised for £10+k.

  14. Thanks glrnet,

I've had a look today and all the latch loop and latch mechanism seems still bolted down tight.

I've been reading the threads about the boot release spring issues,

    Which also was a problem,

I've attached some small pieces of rubber pads i had to the end of the springs and the 2 rubber bungs by the latch loop and it seems to have cured both the loose tailgate and now it opens on just 1 push of the release button.

  15. Was out yesterday in my 2012 370z when i went over some bumps in the road and i heard a rattle from the back of the car.

When i got home i noticed that the boot looked shut but if i pushed down on it there was movement,

Only moves down about 2 or 3 cm's so tried shutting it a bit harder but still the same,

Having looked on here and read about the boot release spring, which also I've noticed it does take 2 pushes of the button to open, but this seems a different issue,

Is there any adjustment in the boot locking latch mechanism ?

  16. Hiya guys,

I've been reading about Coyoteboy's side swipe/hit and run incident and its got me thinking a dash cam may be a good idea to get.

What dash cams do you guys have or rate as being good ?

I would prefer a smaller less obvious dash cam that could be left set up permanently, preferably with out a screen as they seem to be big and bulky,

My Zed has the sat nav screen with reversing camera and aux video plug in the centre box if that can be used to veiw any dash cam footage.

  17. Hiya NismoTom and nice choice of car,

Can't really offer much advice on deals on a new Nismo as i don't own one,

But when i was looking for a 370z i popped into Colliers, Warwick rd, Birmingham who have a new white Nismo demo may be worth contacting them to see what kind of deal they can offer.
