  1. It's just a warm start issue, most older cars will get it. When the engine is warm the fuel vapourises easier and when you are starting the engine once warm, it takes a little longer than normal to get the pressurised full into the cylinder and firing up.

  2. You can side load Kodi onto an Amazon Fire (box or stick). Kodi is ok for tv series and films, but not so good anymore for live TV. You can also side load an app called Mobdro which is brilliant for live tv from almost any country- you can get Mobdro on android phones, but not iOS.

  3. F*cking hate the strikes. They are striking because they believe that the guards will be made redundant if the drivers get to shut the train doors- despite Southern having assured them that nobody would lose jobs as a result. In essence it's an argument over who gets to press the button to shut the doors- pathetic.

Even more so considering there are only around 330 guards employed by Southern, so using the math in Coldel's post, 83 guards are causing misery for millions. I wouldn't mind betting that a lot more than 83 people have lost their jobs as a result of the strike.

  4. "with the van you need a mile of clear road to overtake"

Why the f**k are you planning an overtake then, let alone on a level crossing? The fact it was a works van probably means you would have been paid for the journey, so why bother overtaking?

I don't want to sound overly harsh, but i've seen number of accidents that could have been avoided- this could have easily been one of them...

  5. Your only course of action is against the train co as they failed to correctly insure the parcel (given that they arranged postage and told you what the cost would be). DPD could be held partly accountable for throwing the parcel over the gate, but did it have anything written on it to show it was fragile?

In your dealings wit the train co, don't forget that the laptop is not the only thing you will need to claim for- you will also have to rebut any software etc you had on the machine fi you cannot retrieve serial numbers etc, and spend numerous hours setting the thing up as well.

  6. Make sure you have an extended test drive in an Audi. They seem to have a slightly different pedal offset to any other manufacturer i've driven and played havoc with my knee. I bought the big tdi a few years ago on a whim, but couldn't drive the thing for more than 10 minutes without my knee cramping up.

  7. Knightsbridge if you want to see middle eastern posers driving round and round in circles all day showing off, or parking outside Harrods to get a parking ticket to laugh at. Or, if you want to get up close to parked up super/hyper cars head down to Belgravia and see whats about. Yesterday i walked past two Veyrons parked end to end on Eaton Terrace.

  8. Hey, maybe his Wanli's are rated for wet racing, you never know ;)

Wanli's! These where fitted to my Racing Puma the day i picked it up- i swear they must have been asbestos based as they never wore down and where rock hard... Shote handling wet or dry, but 4 wheel lifting at 40mph on some roundabouts was immense fun.

  9. Porsche 911 C4S- 10 year old car which you can pick up with not very many miles for £25k, and which will be appreciating in value year-on-year. Stick a private platoon it and only the Porsche boffins will know how old it is....

  10. I'm now in support of the 'stay vote' as i've now had time to read through the changes secured in last weeks meetings and agree that it will give control of certain aspects of the UK back in the hands of our own government.

I think almost all of the 'out' brigade could be brought round if one fundamental change in policy would also be reviewed- foreign aid. If the UK cut out the pointless foreign aid package such as the hundreds of millions we send a certain country that is mid way through establishing their own space program, the NHS cuts would be reversed and some of the unduly harsh benefit cuts could also be dropped.

  11. Unfortunately i'm only allowed to choose the car, not the baby's transport. Except i'm not allowed to choose a R35 GTR as although it has ISOFIX points, it does not have enough doors.

  12. Lovely little motors. I had 338 until early 2008 when i stupidly sold it and bought a new Astra SRI. Keep thinking about dipping my toe into the market and buying another one... I'm still a member on Pumapeople and have been keeping a close watch over the for sale section.

  13. I've always had a soft spot for the fast Ford cars- i've had a couple of RS's and a racing puma- which is still one of the best handling cars i've ever driven. The Focus RS depreciation always looks low- the second hand 2010 cars are still only £9k under list price which is excellent.

I've been offered a new full spec car for August delivery, with no premium, so i wouldn't be paying over the odds.

Sadly i have to agree with the parent mobile, but needs must!

  14. Anyone considering the new Focus RS? With a baby on the way and my lease car going back in a few months i'm on the lookout for something quick, but which will not depreciate as quick as the new Mustang.

I've already agreed to sell the 350z for not very much to a friend and will be needing to order something in the next couple of weeks.

Any thoughts on the RS?- it will be in the metallic blue with DVD/sat nav sports pack and luxury pack.
