    My main issue is down to costs really

     

    Which is better DMF OR SMF... i will proberly go for a lightend flywheel with the clutch kit that they can match to the exedy one like was mentioned in there reply..

  2. The Exedy one and the Euro car parts one are both OEM spec clutch kits and are fine for normal road use, as its a dual mass flywheel it is always recommended that you change this at the same time otherwise you will have the box back out before long to change it.

     

    Some stick to the OEM dual mass and others fit a lightweight option we can supply either and I can match the price for the Exedy clutch kit.

     

    The XTD one you posted up is Chinese made and dubious quality, its also in the US so import duty and VAT will apply once it arrives.

     

    If you want to use the car hard on the road or track days then the Xtreme kit we posted up which comes complete is hard to beat :)

  3. Hi guys

     

    My clutch has started slipping in 5th and 6th especially if i blip it, or even in 4th when crusing then give it a blip.

     

    1st 2nd and 3rd seem okay, i can put foot to floor and wont miss a beat, but when i drive like a granny in higher gears it slips unless alot of power put on??

     

    Also on shut down it sounds like a truck turning off and seems like its from engine but under centre console area?

  4. There saying its not there problem as it can happen on any car, the machine past it and filled it and it woukdnt if done that if there was an issue.

     

    He then said sounds like it jasnt had aircon in for a long time...

     

    Yet i told him i used it everyday its just not as cold so reason i wanted it charging

  5. Guys im getting a kind of noise on shutdown, sound like a truck shutting down but no noises while driving, sound like its engine based under the console area ....

     

    Also my clutch is slipping but strangly enough only in low revs in 5th and 6th or when i blip it but if i boot it in 1,2,3rd its fine?

  6. I'd try splitting the motor first off as chances are it'll be covered in all sorts of grease & fluff. Then check the brushes as there is a possibility that if they are not too worn then a good clean up could do the job. Regardless i'll dig out the catalogue numbers for you and pm them to you. They will cost you in the region of £6-50 for the pair, far cheaper than a new motor..

  7. So i went to "wilco motor save" today as its near me and i thought what can go wrong. I paid 40 quid for my aircon to be refilled... the machine did it all okay and filled her then they tested it...

     

    I went on my travels and thought id put it on for a bit and see how is...

     

    Stop at some light and BANG!

     

    Massive bang with a huge cloud of mist, and engine died...

     

    Funny enought everyone came running to my rescue but car didnt start for 10 mins after but it did finally start..

     

    So i drove it back to "wilco" and they looked in bay and green @*!# everywwhere, they said the high pressure pipe had come apart...

     

    What are my options....

    What do i need to get back air con

    And coukd tbey if over pressurzied it?

  8. Hi guys this maybe a newbie z owner question.

     

    In a normal car you check oil when cold but in the zed manual it says check level when at operating temp?

     

    Bit confused as going against what ive always done with it being cold

  9. hi guys i have just taken car into garage to put cats back on after YMS and now ive been told the flexi pioes are blowing.. is that the Y pipe? If so anyone know of a place to get them bit cheaper?

  10. Being the complete newbie that I am, how would I know which engine my Zed falls under?

     

    Also, does doing things like this affect Insurance premiums or is it not something that needs to be declared?

     

    If your car has 2 intake pipes it's an HR, if it has one but has led rear lights and the hazard switch is in front of the gear stick its a DE rev up, otherwise it's a pre facelift DE :thumbs:

    Guys my zed is a 53 plate uk spec 50k miles

    Has the GT package etc. The hazard switch is near the ashtray slot, unsure of the leds in rear and only have 1 intake. Any clues as to what engine mine is and if its a decent one lol
