  1. Does anyone know if the wheel needs to be taken off in order to check wear on pads ? or can it be determined from checking with wheel still on ?

My mechanic said it could do with rear pads but never took the wheels off to check (front or back)

I chased him up last week on the pads and he said he was still to order the fronts although when I told him I thought it was just the rears he said I thought you wanted fronts changed aswell, obviously I don't know what does and doesn't need changed out which is why I asked him to check in the first place.

So after this it made me think should the wheels need to be removed ?

  2. Yea that's the thing sometimes black alloys do not really stand out but rather blend with the tyre walls and look rubbish.... although may give the pink & line colour a a miss buddy lol

    Anthracite/gunmetal is a good option I guess

  3. Hi all,

Looking for opinions on which colour to powder coat my alloys .... either Black..... White or should I keep them as pictured ?

    Thoughts ?

  4. Was having a look at weight comparisons after watching a review on the roadster and it does seem much heavier in comparison to other German roadster.... so thought I would compare to a 2007 5 series (3.0) and it turns out there's only 55kg of a difference (see attached photos)

Pretty surprising really as the 370z has some aluminum body panels installed, can only imagine that V6 under the hood is pretty overweight as the coupe 370z isn't a lot lighter than the roadster either so can't be the re-informed chassis with it being a convertable.

In anycase Id still rather be in the 370 than a Z4 or boxster :)

  5. Hi Greido.

It was on the guernsey site Tig.gg I was just sitting trying to figure out where guernsey private sellers advertise as they don't use gumtree or jersey insight and found tig in Google then by luck this roadster was on there so got the boat over price, was to good to miss :)

    You also from Jersey ?

  6. Another question to the owners of 370z with the auto box.

When moving out of park into a gear sometimes it's not the smoothest action and a bit clunky, is this normal ? had a couple of autos in the past but never really noticed it.

It seems as though I'm not pushing the button on the shifter fully in but I'm sure I am.

    Thanks J

  7. tyre pressures - both front 28psi

    both rear 30psi

should I alter the current pressures ? will book in this week for a re-alignment see if that makes a difference.... it would be ashame to change the tyres out as they perform well traction wise when cornering.

If I do change them I may get those Michelin performance ones nissanman.

  8. Thanks Glrnet yea second review is interesting, will get wheel alignment sorted and if still doesn't feel right the n8000s will have to go no idea why a main dealer would scrimp like that, cheers J

er....profit might have something to di with it

  9. That's sound Ekona, I know years ago from when I had my gen 1 Audi TT it was nicknamed the widow maker until they done upgrades including a small rear spoiler to help prevent lift.

It looks like it may well be alignment and tyres as you guys who also have the 370z have no such issue.

    Thanks for the advice :)

  10. Lol thanks for the lecture Ekona, although I never put the tyres on it, it was in fact a main dealer that did so pre-sale.

Ok I'm aware of wheel alignment and that I do not have top of the range tyres although as for my original post regarding spoilers I'm guessing no one here thinks it makes any difference ?

  11. Roof was down can't remember if it was down last week though when it done same thing, yea wouldn't be my choice of tyres but the car won't driven in the rain so will upgrade them once they have a bit more wear.

Nope never checked alignment buddy may look into that also :)

  12. Just a question regarding 370z at high speed accelerating from say 60 upto 100 the car seems light at twitchy, it has 4 newish tyres which look to be wearing evenly, so my thoughts are is it possible the car is becoming light due to it not having any form of rear spoiler, I know my BMW, Subaru and Audi TT had some kind of spoiler and in fact I think with the original TT they had to install a spoiler as it was an issue at high speeds.

Anyone have an opinion ? also I know the boxster spoiler pops up around 70mph and that seems to be where my roadster starts feeling a little light and twitchy ?

    Regards Jamie (ziglo)

  13. It's all good guys, not been in any accidents and is free from finance, it's immaculate I bought it from a school teacher (headmaster).

I have brought it over to Jersey so only 5% tax to pay on the £12300 and £30 reg fee :)
