  1. Yes I did aim to remove as much texture as possible then used a filler primer to cover the last of it. By a happy coincidence tho, in certain light and certain angles the texture shows through a little. Completely unintended but I like it lol

  2. Wow thanks for the replies. I am running stock ride height.

Id say I'm after a pointy front end and on the neutral side of oversteery at the back. Tbh I think stock settings would be a massive improvement on my current setup lol it's far from "tight" at the minute. Plus the wheel is about 11 o'clock to go straight lol it's long overdue.

But changing geo on the mx5 was like a new car. I know il never get the same transformation as its a different beast but I'd like it to boost cornering confidence.

  3. Getting an alignment done next week and I'm after some specs for better than stock handling. Can anybody point me in the direction of a popular alignment spec?

When I was researching for my mx5 there were tons of suggestions but there was one stand out setup that was the popular choice, I've struggled to find that with the Z. Does this mean stock is preferred?

  4. Horses for courses.

I like to change cars a lot but decided with the Z I'm keeping for a bit longer, 2-3 years. So I went for an 05 with great history and lowish miles.

    Theory was,

It's a cheaper car to purchase

Cheaper to tax (i'llsave ~£700 in ownership)

It's nearer its bottom value so I won't lose as much when I sell.

To me it was a no brainer. But to somebody wanting to keep the car longer, they may want newer for longevity, and at the same time, somebody wanting to swap in a year may want newer as losses would be minimal.

I would say you just need to make your mind up what you want from the car, do you change cars often, & can you deal with being in a 10 year old car. What would the neighbours say lol I know this is a deal breaker for a lot

  5. I had the same problem buying the zed really. What else is there for similar money? Nothing. Z4, TT or boxster and I don't like any.

I'm with ekona. Has to be different instead of better...

Iv only owned my zed a couple of months and love her and plan to stick with her for 2-3 years but already thinking where to go next. For me it's probably a 911 or Cayman depending what the prices are like by then

  6. Seems very quiet on the forum regarding the West Yorkshire area. Just wondering where our nearest meet is?

I'm in leeds and used to meet up at birstal retail park, junction1, wakey, xscape etc in my younger days but it all seems pretty quiet now. Is there any jap car meets near me? I'm not looking for drag racing and donuts or anything, just a bit of a social with car guys.

  7. Just washed and machine polished mine today with my Lidl's special, using Meguiars ultimate compound.Gotta say it done an awesome job. Paint is silky smooth and seems to have a deep finish to it. Well chuffed :)

In a "get what you pay for" sort of way. How is the build quality? Do you expect it to last? Quite fancy one at that price
