  1. Does anyone why oem pilot bush i ordered is too small for my crankshaft?

On bearing outer diameter iz 19mm but as measured on my crankshaft, it should be around 20.6mm or something like that...

Where can I get the proper one?

    Oem code I ordered: 32898-CD000

Sorry if this is a common issue, but quick google search didn't help!

  2. So my zed is in need of a new power steering pump, because current is noisy and steering is heavy, plus it's leaking...

My question is, is this any good http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Replacement-PAS-Power-Steer-Pump-02-07-For-JDM-Import-Z33-Fairlady-350Z-VQ35DE-/151430790443?nav=SEARCH or should I be better off with used oem item?

I just think taht brand new is always better than used item...

Oh and I have 03 model! Is there any difference with pumps over the years, and maybe they are interchangeable between infiniti fx35?

  3. Hey guys, I have issu with my 03 zed, 3rd gear syncros are dead and need to find a replacement, does anyone know oem part number for 3rd gear syncro?

I've only found 2nd gear oem number (32620-CD008)

Even on some parts stores they don't offer me syncro for 3rd gear...

  4. So yesterday I was out on christmas drift practise and on my second run I completely lost 3rd gear... I can shift into it with or without clutch pedal pressed, but there are no extra noises or something that might seem wrong with the gearbox!

It app happen on a very wet surface and 205/55 r16 rubber, so I don't thing the gear shattered, because I've been banging 3rd gear all season on dry surface and even clutch kicking on 265/35 r18 rubber!

I's an 03 de model with a weak gearbox... It already had bad synchros from 2nd to 3rd gear, but that shouldn't be the case right?

  5. Yes there are topics about harness bars, but I'm looking specifically for some sketch of some sort with all dimensions...

I want to build my own bar but need some dimensions as starting point, Z is far away from me so I won't be able to take measurements myself :)

  6. Ok, so maybe I should start with a proper oil catch can breathing into air and see how it works, if that won't help, then it's piston rings for sure :/

But what about valve seals, can't they be faulty/worn?

P.S it would be great if someone had a link to a proper/best catch can setup for N/A vq35de with breather setup :)

Oh and mileage is just under 83k miles... But engine was swapped, because genuine engine was first twin turbo in our country which was broken aparts... But previous owner said that this engine is from a lower mileage car and was auto...

  7. Pcv valve is working properly and piping seems to be ok...

But compression test won't show me the condition of oil rings does it? Because compression is made by the 2 or 3 compression rings...

And I had bad piston rings on my daily mazda, the affect was that on cold start until engine is fully in working temperature it had a blue smoke coming from exhaust...

I tend to thing that problem isn't in piston rings, because it doesn't smoke daily driving it... I had a blue smoke on highway when I did 50-100mph pull 4-5th gear... It did smoke for a few minutes and then it was back to normal. Maybe I should check all of the pcv sytem pipes from blockage? Or maybe there are something else to check?

Will do compression test as soon as I get to my garage...

  8. Oh... And I decided to do this, because after some hard drift laps I get blue smoke from exhaust for a while... I think that pcv system is causing this, because I've read that vq tend to use oil when driven hard :/ (only cats left in exhaust system, got 3" stainless fitted)

  9. Hey guys.

I recently decided that I need to put breather filters on my pcv system...

Is this ok with 350z and it won't need any remap or something else to run properly?

I want to put a breather on pcv valve and shut the hole on intake pipe, maybe will add a second breather for LH cylinder head if neccessary...

I haven't reasearched this properly, but I've done this on all my s13's (sr,ca)

Any opinion or help would be great :)

  10. ah thats awsome! cheers for those pics! so did you just run the lines down through the gearbox tunnel? cheers dude!

I ran those lines next to the pedals then upwards thru the rubber that's almost next to the brake cylinder ;)

    Update:

Now I have a fully custom made 3'' y-pipe back stainless exhaust, and it sounds awesome B)

P.S please help with my issue if you can http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/98424-knockingrattling-noise-after-shutdown/

P.S.S it turns out my bonnet is fiberglass, is that an OEM unit?

  11. Hey everyone!

Some time ago my Z developed this very weird noise from engine (I suppose)...

This noise only comes up after I done a hard drive (read drift) and shut it off a little while afterwards... it very rarely rattles after a normal daily drive in traffic...

What this could be, as I can't even think of anything that could make that kind of noise when engine is not turning, please share your knowledge people...

Search on google and here didn't give any results :(

I hope you all can see and hear this video, if not let me know please!

  12. Special update for dougie350 :teeth:

So finally I had a chance to take a few pictures of actual hydro setup at the moment!

In other news, got these 4x 20mm bastards for free, so it's cool B)

And got some sticky front tyres ordered today, so will keep this updated next week

  13. Quality, always love seeing someone getting out there and doing it :)

Is that a regular thing where you live or a one off?

Thanks mate, we have some training sessions pretty much every weekend somewhere, so yeah drifting now is very popular and common even on the road :D

But this particular event/training is for the upcoming race that's happening this weekend 3-4 May and last training session is this saturday, so maybe I will participate, but will see as money is tight already...

  14. Good stuff! Keep the updates coming! Don't suppose you've got any photos of installing your hydro? I've got the same one now and just wondering the best place to mount it :)

I could take my panel off and take some pictures for you this week if you need them mate ;)

Next thing I think is going to be stainless 3'' y-pipe back exhaust custom made by me and my mate!

But not sure at the moment, because I need new banana/compression arm as it's rattling bad :(

  15. Belts are brand new, less than 500miles on them, and all are tighened to spec ;)

One thing I haven't had a chance to check if gauge is misreading, because when I pulled to my garage charging was perfect 14.28V (gauge+multimeter)

But today I will check the gauge if possible, thanks ;)

But if the red battery icon lights un in dash, doesn't that means that it's not charging, or that could also be some sort of sensor fault?

And no extra lights are on, but haven't checked codes because I don't have proper cable and laptop to do it...

Today had a chat with a friend and he said that it might be a faulty "diode bridge".. I don't know how it's pronounced in english but that's a straight translation :D

  16. Thos morning started the car, gauge was showing ~15V, which seems a bit high, but after a short while it stopped charging again... And when I was sitting in traffic for a while it startet to charge normally, but only on idle, as soon as I revved charge dropped...

Something is playing around, is it really alternator that needs to be changed? Maybe ir the battery, or something else?

  17. Water and or fluid contaminating the alternator is not a good plan.

The PAS fluid may also be making the belt slip.

Pre owned fully working alternators are in stock if required.

    Alex. :)

Yeah I know fluids aren't good, just money is very tight and can't get it rebuilt at the moment, and can't afford to buy new unit :/

Maybe you could PM me a price of pre owned units? ;)
