Sorry, valuation was 5400. No structural damage, alloy only needs refurbished but I have a couple of spare wheels anyway, I am still driving the car daily and it still goes well, just surprised how easily cars are put as a cat D with only a couple of panels damaged. Still need to think about whether to buy it back or not, as with the repairs then potentially the hassle of selling on a cat D it may not be worth it. It's a shame as it took me a long time to find one that was the right spec etc.

Apparently Glass's guide valuation of 5800. Seems a tad low for 72000 miles full service history, no issues.and one previous owner, Time to trawl autotrader etc

Well assessor just called me, total loss. Valuation of the car is low so going to have the fun of the to-ing and fro-ing with the insurance company. He assessed the front wing, door+brackets, sill cover needed replacing, repair of alloy and rear quarter and a few other bits and bobs. I'll have to wait for the insurance company to get back with their offer now.

Well after 5 weeks of ownership, my zed doesn't look pretty anymore. Someone pulled out of a junction and hit the side of the car. The next couple of days will see if it is repairable or total loss, apparently it is a close call. So a bit gutted. Looks like only panel damage so would it be worth buying it back if it is written off?
  5. Thanks all. I would post a couple of pics but hey are over the 1mb limit. I'll re-do them when I have a minute. Forgot to say, first mod already done....stubby aerial. From reading you have to do that to an official member of the forum!! Not planning to do much to the car at the moment, previous owner had only just replaced the back box with a Nissan standard one but still enjoying the sound. Totally different driving experience to the Pulsar though, lets just say it is more refined in a zed!
  6. quick question for those that run winter tyres, when do you actually change to them? I've read that it should be when the temperature drops to around 8 degrees or is it worth waiting until we start getting the first flurry of the white stuff? Also, stupid question but will most tyre places be happy to just swap the tyres over as I've only really used tyre places to supply and fit tyres before.
  7. Hi all, just thought I would join the ever increasing list of new zed owners. Been looking at getting a 350 on and off for a year. Missed out on a couple, but finally got a rare silver one a few weeks ago. 2003, full Nissan service history, 71000 miles, no mods but got some winter wheels and tyres thrown in. Didn't really know about this forum, but when ordering the Mishimoto fan shroud from Clarke Motorsport, they mentioned it so that reminded me to join up....so here I am. Looking forward to the different driving experience the zed will bring, as I've mostly driven Nissan Pulsar Gti-r's for the last ten years.
