  1. just caught up on this thread after missing the last 6 weeks, and what a difference! So close seeing the final look! I can't believe how well those rear vents came out. I was expecting the gap to be excessive and small children would disappear inside but it looks tidy as. I take it (from the photoshopped versions) those wheels are staying the same colour?

Anything else being added/changed you've not let us into yet?

Also just got a call from my dad saying our car has developed a couple of bubbles in the paint since i left, so these will be sorted soon and while we're at it, get a full respray! Decisions decisions!!!

  2. Don't know any fitters, but i got my pioneer unit fitted on saturday in about an hour! had previously removed a bluetooth kit that was on the car when i bought it, so i knew what i was up against. Not to mention I'm a spark, but less about that.

why not open the centre dash up and think about tackling it yourself?

Just a quick addition if anyone is interested - usually with touch screen unit, the aux and usb ports will be on the rear so I've just bought this and will fit it at the weekend!

  3. From what I have seen on here it's not as simple as just fitting the Bose to a new car.

There is another step you need to take In removing it from your car.

Have a search and hopefully you will see what I mean

I think this would suit someone after a direct replacement, rather than someone looking to upgrade, if thats what your getting at

  4. Taken from my 2003 350z gt.

    tape and radio work fine

issue with cd player - sometimes works fine, sometimes skips like a bitch!

just the unit available, i do not have the harness for it. may fit direct into standard harness?

Located in blairgowrie, perthshire. collection welcome but i can post at a cost.

  5. Just sat a rear thru this thread and what a great build its turning out to be! I have had some similar ideas for my car but making them reality is a little bit more difficult! I love the v2 bumper as they are and will defiantly be fitting one in the future, but the slim single vent idea you have looks pretty sleek! will be keeping an eye on this one..

  6. Added the single greatest discovery since bread could be sliced, the most under rated piece of technology since atari's E.T. game, it's a piece of equipment unbeknown to many 'safe' drivers but widely feared by the true hoonigans, I've had to fit a bloody telemetry box to my silver stallion.... That's what you get for forgetting to read the fine print

Nooooo! I feel your pain :D

Sounds like the worst news ever! How'd they trick you into that?

On a better note, fitted a K2 exhaust to the z and ripped out the bose stereo for a JVC double din (temporary!!) til I can afford the pioneer unit I'm after!

  7. Multicar has always been the cheaper option, but how its worked out makes no sense to me.

Currently myself, my dad and my mum are on a policy with 4 cars.

Previously i insured my car separately and my dad insured their 3 cars separately.

the cost for myself was around 800 per year, and he was 1500 per year.

    Cars in question : 2003 nissan 350z, 1998 Mitsibushi Pajero Evo (import), 2005 Mitsibushi Shogun 3.2D, 2001 Audi a4 2.0 sline

I was only insured for my car, and could not drive the others. Now we have combined all 4 cars it has brought the cost down to 1700 per year and all 3 of us are insured to drive all 4 cars. better yet, I only have to pay 600 instead of 800 as his business covers the insurance for the shogun!

Good to point out I have 6 points with 3 previous and I'm only 24, and my dad has 3 points and one accident (smashed into a corsa, didn't even scratch the shogun) and is 51!

  8. Thanks for the info guys. I'm not looking to spend too much, if anything I'm trying to do it on the cheap, so if I can get a k2 and then maybe try a cheap set of decats an long with it first I will be happy. It might end up getting a custom system in a year or 2 anyway.

K2 should do what I'm after, and anyway, I'm pretty handy with a welder! Haha

  9. Great, thanks everyone. I came to the conclusion of the k2 being that with japspeed being a named brand that it would fit well and last, and the k1 isn't what I'm after (yet).

Now that I've seen the layout everything if read seems to make sense.

I'll take a look at the Invidia Gemini tonight, anyone got a link to a sound file or video so I can see what it sounds like?

  10. Okay, so I haven't had time to take a look under the car and would like to know the layout of the exhaust under the car.

I will be looking at putting a japspeed k2 on and have been reading thru the forums.

unfortunately this has created a lot of confusion in my head.

    y pipes?

    single centre sections?

might even fit de-cats along the way.

    *its a 2003

  11. Hi everyone!

Ive joined the forum to get a little more knowledge of the 350z's and any improvements and modifications people have made.

My car history has had a few ups and downs. Even for being 24, I've had a lot of cars.

Started my first few years with a ford fiesta van, then went to a rover 25 (twice) followed by a ford focus, then mg zs.

After that was yet another ford, this time a focus st. my first car with a reasonable amount of power.

With this car is where I appear to have tried to set a benchmark of comfort, speed and ease of use.

The following cars went in a different direction (ford focus diesel, then a 1.6 petrol) but these were only daily drivers. The exciting bit has been a 3.2 v6 Audi TT. Plenty power behind her, fun electronic gearbox and a few gadgets here and there. Obviously there was the usual stick from driving a hairdressers car, but they soon got over it once i put the foot down. The only disadvantage is that it wasn't really any fun to drive. An auto gearbox and 4 wheel drive system meant it wasn't any different to a hart on a track. No sliding, no choice of gears. Just sitting, doing what it tells you is best.

about 2 or 3 months ago we set out looking for a replacement car for the TT. Had a looking online at one or 2 that seemed appealing, but not really what we were looking for.

Fortunately, My dad is part of Clan Japan (scottish jap car club, He has a mitsubishi pajero evo, 3.5mivec - soon to be supercharged) and while at the scottish car show this year, a guy on the same stand had a 2006 fair lady.

and that was that. the hunt for a 350z was on. oh, and it had to be blue.

picked her up about 4 weeks ago now and have been loving every minute of it.

    First impressions?

The 350 is fast enough, handles very well, plenty of gadgets and is spacious.

    Improvements?

a few to be made, its a bit dirty and worn inside and out, so not in show condition really.

sound system could do with an upgrade, the sub in the back isn't as powerful as i had hoped.

a little more of a roar from the exhaust system would be a bad thing either!

Anyway, i will be looking for advice and defiantly taking some tips from the posts already on here!

    Thanks very much!
