  1. Bump, not been on here in a while but the adapter is still for sale - £55 ONO.
  2. Hi guys, I no longer have my 350z so as above: - BT adapter: I bought this separate from the car about a year ago but never used it myself as I found out after purchase that it wasn't compatible with my phones (Samsung Galaxy S2 and S7) - £55 (inc. packaging) - Stubby: it's still in the wrapper and bought off TarmacSportz website about 2 weeks ago - £12 (inc. packaging) SOLD
  3. Thanks guys, I'll YouTube some vids of the above recommendations! Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  4. Hi all, I received an experience day voucher for Christmas this year off the gf and there's a large choice of tracks available. I was wondering if anyone can put forward one or two recommendations from the below list? I'm based in the Midlands (Stoke-on-Trent), however the track location isn't really an issue as we'd just make a small getaway of it if it's further afield: Midlands - Donnington heritage site, malory park, Blyton park, old Blyton airfield, Rockingham, Seighford driving centre, Stoneleigh park, Throckmorton airfield North - 3 sisters circuit, York tockwith, tockwith motorsport centre South East- carver barracks (saffron walden), the London circuit (Aldershot), Bovingdon airfield, Kent County showground, bentwaters park South West - Perranporth, Abingdon airfield, bicester. The car choice varies by location so I'll post the available options when I've managed to narrow down the tracks. Cheers, Tom Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk
  5. I've pm'd zmanalex, thanks Ken. Kinabalu do you have a link? Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  6. Bit more detail now I've had chance to research: Offside regulator motor, OEM number 80731-CD001 (or 80731-CD00A, not sure why there's different part numbers for one part??) Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  7. As above, I'm in Stoke-on-Trent. Cheers, Tom Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  8. Thanks for the encouraging reply Gus. However, another problem I face which I realise I didn't mention above is that even basic modifications/repairs aren't ideal in my current living situation as my car is kept in a residential parking space on an incline. This makes the self-taught method not only difficult and potentially dangerous, but also a bit intimidating as I'll have other residents as an audience to my inevitable **** ups 😜. Although I intend to change my living arrangements in the future, it's not going to happen any time soon and I don't think my Z can handle much more neglect! I'm partly hoping that access to proper equipment and tools either through education or professionally would make a workable environment accessible to me privately as well (either through connections or for a fee). 9. Hi guys, I've had my Z for a couple of years now and I'll be the first to admit that it's lacked some serious care and attention. The car is 13 years old now and is really beginning to show the signs of an angst-ridden teen with a chip on it's shoulder. My lack of care, and the worrying absence of the zeditis bug are partly due to my lack of free time during the week (I work in insurance, don't hate me), but mostly due to ignorance. Whenever something goes wrong it has to stay like that until I can arrange a day off work to take it to a professional and pay money for labour I'd rather have been able to do myself (not many garages near me are open weekends). The problem is that my understanding of any mechanical/electrical aspect of my car is almost nonexistent and is something I crave to learn, but lack the means to do so. I want to be able to work on my car with the confidence that I won't ruin it and would like this community's advice on how to go about this. I live and work in Stoke-on-Trent and would like the ability to learn over weekends (or evenings if necessary). I've seen some college-based courses around the £1,500 mark but the requirements aren't clear (I.e. I can't tell if they're aimed at employed adults or teenagers who can commit to a full-time education). I'd much prefer an on the job education, with some theory I can throw in during my free time at home, partly as this would be free for me and the employer (financially) and also because that's how I learn best. Could anyone suggest any affordable local courses, or if free work experience would be a viable option? (And how to go about obtaining it). A university degree is out of the question I'm afraid, I already have an unrelated degree (and the associated student debt) and can't warrant the cost of time and money of another for a hobby (~£9k a year!) If my knowledge improves to a great enough extent I may also contemplate weekend work for supplementary income. Let me know your thoughts, and don't worry about dragging me back to reality as I'm conscious this may be a bit of a pipedream. 10. Thanks guys, I got a local quote for £312 and they're going to check a problem with my passenger window motor as well. Won't be until the end of the month but I'll post pics of quality when it's done. Tom Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  11. I'm under the impression a respray would be needed but I don't know whether the whole thing gets sprayed or if they just respray the affected area. @rickyz I didn't notice any deformity but I was rushing to work when I looked over it. I'll have have a closer look this evening Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  12. Hi all, a guy reversed into my front bumper the other day and since the damage seemed quite minor we've decided to settle it without involving insurers. I was wondering if anyone on here could offer a quote or expected price based on the attached images? Cheers, Tom Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
  13. Yeah I went from having never seen/heard of Z's to seeing them everywhere after I bought mine. Either there weren't many about or I just assumed they were somethin else :-D. Let me know if there's anything happening around Staffordshire, never been to a meet or anything before so I'm intrigued!
  14. Thanks guys, all sorted until next year now.
  15. Hi, if there are any insurers on here still can you message me for a quote please? Cheers, Tom
  16. Saw a blue 350z with private plates at the Nuffield gym in Stoke today
  17. Hi guys, bit of an update. No luck from charging the battery as expected. I've had an offer for a new starter motor for £140 inc vat and delivery, and an offer for a used one for £40 delivered. So I'm debating which to go for ATM as I'm unsure on typical life expectancy of starter motors and whether mine just went due to bad luck. My question currently is how does one test a starter motor under load before installing? (If I decided to for a used part). Is there a way to mimic the force required to start the 350z engine or do you need a specific piece of kit? I'm only wondering this as I wouldn't want to pay labour to install a starter motor that spins when connected to a battery, but is unable to turn the engine once installed. Any insight is much appreciated, Tom
  18. Thanks for the responses guys. I'm gonna take out the battery and fully charge it just in case and if that still doesn't work (I'm expecting it won't) I'll have a gander at used motors, had a few very reasonable offers already considering how extortionate new ones are. I won't be able to do the work myself as I don't have the space/tools/knowledge however if you think it's approx an hour's work that wouldn't be too bad a labour cost.
  19. My dad's car was running and doing medium revs but still couldn't jump mine. The RAC guy just tested the voltage. From the car voltmeter reading it appeared to have ~12v pre ignition, ~10v during attempted ignition, and ~14v whilst running.
  20. Hi guys, long story short my '53 plate 350z wouldn't start the morning after a long journey and I couldn't jump it from my dad's car battery either so I had to call out the RAC. Basically when I turn the ignition the current dips as usual but I just hear a click instead of a V6 (a problem I've experienced before but always seemed to revolve itself). After testing the battery the RAC guy bump started the car and said the solenoid is sticking and that I would need a new starter motor. I looked up the price for one of these and was horrified as I originally thought my problems would be solved with a new battery or alternator belt. My question is do I really need a new starter motor if the issue is something sticking? The starter motor is looking at costing approx £320, could anyone estimate how much would labour be if this was to be the only course of action? Regards, Tom
  21. Saw a black '06 350z by Sainsburys in Stoke this evening and a blue turbo charged 350z '54 plate last week by the med centre near Penkhull.
  22. Loving the punnage there mate :-D. I got the bumper damage repaired at a local body shop. Cost me £250 for repair and respray which I probably could've gotten cheaper but it looks good and he touched up a few extra patches with the paint that was left over
