  1. Update!

Locking nuts off!! Cost me £20 Couldn't argue with that, even though it took about 10 mins, if that.

    'tools for the job' eh?

Yeap, called in County Tyres, couldn't help, no tools for the job. Didn't expect that, but they kindly sent me to another dealer who did!

Oversize special sockets, hammered on ( wasn't keen on that bit), removed with torque wrench.

Other option not used, special tool/ socket that fits into the area around the shape, then crank off.

Normal bolts replaced. Not sure if I will put locking nuts back on again.

    Thanks for posts guys.

  2. Oops. Can't find my locking wheel nut ( don't ask!!)

Well guys, best offer from my local performance garage mate and owner is to weld onto said nut(s) and remove that way.

Big issue, it will mark the alloys around that area.

Obviously looked via Google, but anyone had same problem with a satisfactory outcome before I commit??

    Any help appreciated. Thanks.

  3. Had same problem myself over about last 6 months. Just thought the battery ( even though I replaced it) still wasn't up to the job of cranking it over.

However!, it finally wouldn't start at all. Just a click. Battery fully charged etc but nothing. Even jump wouldn't get it to crank.

Mate came over and, without a doubt, starter motor knackered!Ho Hum

So pm'd ZMANALEX on Forum, has used starters available, not re-conded, just used.

They aren't that easy to get off and on but if you're ok with working under the car then it is very do able.

Result, perfect starting everytime. Job done. Wished I had know it was this problem ages ago.

Cost - pm ZMANALEX, nowhere near what you quoted.

Time- about 1 hour on and off with car on front wheel jacks

    Hope this helps.

  4. Hi STRbramley,

I've got a 'no issues ' stock Bose Head Unit from same 05 DE import.

Replaced it with Alpine double din etc. Etc when I bought her. Bit of an audiophile!!!

Pm me if interested. I could take some pics of it if you need. Also Bose subwoofer and amp sitting around if anyone interested.

  5. Wow shooze,

Are these the before or after pics??!

Doesn't seem to be the same quality / workmanship as ZZZebady.?

Have to see how it settles but quite surprised about it not sealing.

Was hoping to get mine done, but appreciate your pictures / post.

    Happy sunny days!
