  1. I've switched from ds2500s to ebc redstuffs on the front. the redstuffs are working out just fine for me - road use only, occasional spirited drive, but not generally hard on the brakes (save that for the track car, which runs yellowstuffs) no dust to speak of, and no squeal. the ds2500s used to squeal when they were cold, which was annoying.

CS can get you a good price for EBC bits

    Cheers mate!

    +2 for EBC

  2. Well just to throw another into the pot I've had yellow stuff on for the last 5 years good for normal and occasional track days never had one problem.

    Thank you!

This is exactly the sort of thing I am looking for.

So +1 for EBC so far :)

Did anybody ever use Hawk Performance Ceramic?

  3. I am not set on EBC or anything, I just want something that will bite properly in the cold and has good stopping power as my driving style is kind of spirited :teeth:

I do not do track days, I just do weekends when the weather is right and most of it on motorways, A and B roads.

  4. Hey i used EBC Red stuff as they are a perfect compromise between the the rages, dont get the hard core stuff if you dont go on track as they are not required and can squeak, if your keeping origonal disks like me then after 400miles of bedding in the car hides its weight well if your running the Brombo set up even the OEM pads are quite good.

I purchased my ones off Clarckmotor sport as they are quite competetive on price... just got Diff and Gbox oil and plugs for my HR £180.00 so all good.

I am running brembos on a HR.

What plugs did you go for and how much did they cost you? I am thinking of changing mine as well.

  5. Hi fellas,

The time has come to change my brakes - only front ones though as the rear ones still have plenty of meat on them.

What do you recommend? Red stuff or yellow stuff? or maybe something else?

Is it fine just to change the front pads or is it better to change both front and rear?

Where do you recommend getting them from and can I fit them at my local mechanic or should I go to my specialist 350z garage?

  6. All I would say is be realistic ..... You generally always loose money on cars , if I were you i would be very happy with 9-9.5 for it .

    GLWTS

    I agree. It makes sense.

As soon as I find out what my work has in plan for me I will put it up for sale :byebye:

  7. That's what you get for working in an international company; restructuring every 3-4 years and you either leave work or go with the flow.

I would say how much you paid for it would be a good start

Very much this, as you've only had it 6 months and added 1500 miles. ;)

Very true but I am sure I need to knock off some of the money I paid as it is older and has more miles and depreciation is another thing I need to consider. This is why your advice guys is what I need.

    Prob 9- 9.5

Traders will be offering around 7.5 - 8 I reckon

I would sell private for sure .

I have never done this, sell a car I mean. Is there anything I need to be aware of, consider......etc.

Apologies if I sound like an idiot but I live on the principle that you should always seek advice from the more experienced :)

  8. I did the research of course, apologies I should have mentioned this but this is the thing. I couldn't find any other cars with the same combination. Most cars with similar spec tend to be about 9-10k but these are trader prices......

Greece or Cyprus at the moment and although they are in EU they've got some environmental tax which is huge if the emissions are high.....

  9. So here goes......

After saving for ages and managing to buy my pride and joy :teeth: my company decides to do some restructuring and I may have to move out of the country in 2-3 months time :rant::surrender:

I have been researching the internet to find out if I can take the car with me but apparently it may prove very difficult for tax reasons (I may have to pay a £12000 car tax to register it!!!!).

Since I never sold a car, ever, I though you guys can give me some advice on how, when, where and how much.....etc.

The car is a 57 plate HR with 65500 miles, full service history, midnight blue with frost grey leather interior (the combination was nearly impossible to find!!), the GT pack (bose, electric seats.....etc.) and is in excellent condition! Whatever small bobs it had, I sorted out and is now running flawlessly and puts a huge grin on my face every time i drive it :D

So how much can I ask for it? Where is the best place to sell it? How should I go about selling it? How fast will it go?

Any advice is really appreciated guys.

    Thanks,

  10. my last car was a 3000 GTO TT One of the very few last ones built and whilst this gave you a stern kick up the bum when booted, the Zed doesnt due to the lack of turbos. But you know what, this big heavy car gives me more smiles per miles by any other car Ive ever owned. Its got a personallity all of its own and I bet all the other members feel the same. Cant put my finger on it, but it does. :)

    +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 +1 😆

  11. Mine has arrived and is installed. Nice work Ian, top man

Divider arrived and fitted , looks good and fitted really well

I can't add much to the praise in this thread except to say +1  the divider looks amazing and fits perfectly. Thanks a lot Ian! :D

Fitted my divider today. Looks awesome. Thanks

Cheers fellas. I'm really pleased you're happy with them

Hurry up and post some pics Rob! I'm looking forward to seeing it fitted :snack:

I think that quoting Ian may help :D

  12. Hey thanks for the input guys I've been told today that it could be clutch related by an independent Porsche garage that I use, he's gonna have a look soon so I'll let you know the findings

Any update mate? Just asking because mine is the same :)

  13. Well, in 6 hours of driving in total today, I didn't see 1 other zed.

I did enjoy my drive though, although a bit cautious as it was a cold morning. Temps dropped again for my journey home too, and with the roads starting to glisten, I only had 1 small rear end twitch :)

This is one of the great things about thr Z. It is very unique
