  1. Hi Hooch, done that probably a dozen times now, I'm quite good at it after having a lot of practice before so I know that me getting it wrong is not an issue, the only thing that I have not done is the ECU reset only because there is no Engine Management light on so I can't see the point..
  2. I am putting a little list together for some bits from you as i go along (mainly interior bits and bobs), i will see what the outcome is from taking the car back to the dealer to have it put right first then contact you. Good point, MAF's are now cleaned up, managed to get the TB's off and clean those out, drivers side was pretty clean, passenger side a little messy but cleaned up now, all back together and relearning done absolutely no change at all, so back to the dealers it goes while still under his warranty.
  3. Its a blind hole just for the screw to fasten too, MAF's are back in and just been for a spin and idle still hunting the same @1500-1750'sh when warm, will have a go at the TB's tomorrow
  4. Little break in the weather so i could get started, ive got both MAF's out and sprayed (just waiting for drying out), right hand MAF (passenger side as i look at it) shows a missing screw as in the pic attached, could this be a culprit in causing an ingress of air that does not pass over the sensor?
  5. Yeah i got half a can of that left over from a previous MAF blasting session an my old Primera, anyway the good old English weather gods have thrown a spanner into the works and now its peeing it down, so that will be my tomorrow job, will keep you posted and once again many thanks..
  6. Thanks for the super speedy reply Will, il get to work on that soon as i have finished my coffee, is it a good practice after to do some kind of a relearn again after or will the ECU do all the work?
  7. Hi Guru's. Just a quicky for you, i have recently purchased a 350z 313 GT, test driving i didnt come across any issues, anyway now i have a little problem as i am about to explain. Firstly a point to note is that i have no Engine Warning Light (CEL) so i cant flash a code out of it. When engine is up to temperature the idle will not drop, infact it is quite erratic rising and falling between 1500 rpm and 1750-1800 rpm at a stationary position, clutch fully down. My first instinct was that the Throttle Bodies may need a clean, recent receipts that came with the car show a replacement TB in early 2013, so at this point i have not gone in and taken them off, all i have done is Idle Air Volume Relearn via a pedal dance (i have lots of practice in this with having previous Nissans, so im confident all was done correctly), Anyway the relearn did not solve the issue, I have also done the Throttle Position Relearn. My question is before i resort to taking off the Throttle Bodies would i be better off going down the route of MAF cleaning first to eliminate a dirty MAF as an issue? or just go the whole hog, whip the lot off and get to work on both MAF and the TB's? Or an even easier solution would probably be if any member on here has had a problem very similar can they point me in the right direction as to what the issue could be. Cheers Martin
  8. Pick up my first zed today, it's a lovely looking unmolested night blue GT on a 07 plate, it seemed faultless on a test drive, im gonna be grinning like a Cheshire Cat when I get it home to Rotherham after seeing the weather forecast earlier.. Pics will follow...
  9. Tomorrow is a big day, going to look at my first 350 z, busily revising on the buyers guide right now, trying hard to conceal my excitement though!
  10. Thank you all for the very warm welcome (its giving a nice fuzzy glow), the advice of not jumping in feet first and taking my time has been taken onboard, i wont be making any rush decisions. If something does not feel quite right then il cross it off my list Oh Bradders, your scaring me Definatley a coupe, colour wise i like, the gun metal, black and midnight blue ( i think thats what the very dark blue is called ), so i guess you could say im eclectic in my colour choices. As to age im wanting to go around 07-09, but if i see an 05 and i get the "wow" feeling then 05 it will be. Im flexible
  11. Hello all firstly thanks to all concerned for these great forums, For several months now i have been considering becoming a 350 z owner, today is the day that im taking the bull by the horns and going for it, i have one iron in the fire and hoping its not gone over the next few days till i can get the time off work and go and take a look in person, if its gone by the time i get there then its gone, there will be others im sure and whats another couple of months waiting for what seems the "right" one to come up. I have been in and out of the forums, looking and learning as a general snooper and picking up little bits of info here and there, be prepared to expect some really nooby questions from me time to time.
