I'm the grey one!! Aha I havnt seen you around! Where abouts do you live?

Just tried to unlock my 350 but the remote locking wouldn't work. I thought it was a dead battery, so I unlocked the door manually and the car started fine. I then thought it was the key battery, so I got my spare key and the remote locking still didn't work. I have changed both of the batteries, and still nothing. While sitting in the car I kept pressing the buttons on my key and it worked once or twice. Any suggestions?? Thanks

That is very impressive! What year?My car rolled 275.6bhp the other day, engine bay is untouched
Yeah you never know what cars are actually pushing :S
-
I need to get it on a dyno to see, but I am too nervous of the outcome I prefer to think of it as the 276 she once was haha

Hello everyone,
Just a quick question. I know there are a few forums about loss of bhp over the years, the same in all cars. I was just curious to if anyone knows, how much the loss in bhp would effect acceleration in a Zed?
-
Well some of the soil nearly fell on me when I went around a corner.. So not wellLooks how's it handle round corners?
-
Oh just a tad bit haha! The worst bit was putting them in and taking them out all on my own
It's 1820kg or around 275kg of 'baggage'.Possibly a tad overloaded there!
Actually, I wonder if it was? What's the max weight limit in a Zed? I've no idea!
According to this site 25L of garden soil weights 13kg, so 36 bags is equal to 468kg which is way over the limit. Not sure how it affects the car, but it sure is a good way of lowering it!
-
Yeah I love getting myself a bargain Temporary lowering for when you don't have to deal with speed bumps Haha I would love to see what other people have fit in theirs
-
Ha yeah I wasn't too sure myself, but it was a short trip Not going to lie it felt a bit overweight haha

I will add all 3 of these, I just hope I don't look like a stalker :O
Hah whacky will I am only 19 so you are an old man to me Haha nah you are still young
You are living in the past! Being a young person, the term 'rim' has been coined as a slang term for fancy or customized wheels on a carJust as an FYI

Perfect!! Thank you! There is a full section on alloys (wheels), I'm sure that will steer you (no pun intended) in the correct direction.
Are you looking at 18s or 19s, colour, design, spoke count - would all help you narrow choices down.
In meantime, as few here from another recent post:

Hi Everyone!
I am saving to buy a new set of rims for my 350. I was originally set on some white Rota Grid Drifts / Bola B1s (as I am a cheapskate). Although now I am having some doubts. I was wondering if people could post a pic of their rims so I can get a verity of ideas! I have searched to see if this topic already exists, but I couldn't see anything. If it does please link me.
Thank you!
-
Haha so much controversy about the rear wheel
-
I will get saving! Thanks. All prices in the 1st post.

Ah that's cool! I will be having a look at that in the morning, thanksThe z was deigned with 53/47 weight distribution for a reason, look up 350z shock video and all is explained, even the level of the eye view when stock is taken from the skyline gtr lmgt race car so eyes are drawn to where they need to be on the road. All clever stuff
-
Ah that's good to know its suited! Yeah I will be taking it easy especially on the first few laps Haha I will try and resist the temptation of driving on the grassThe Zed is a fundamentally heavy car - steel chassis, steel panels (bar the bonnet) and all the lardy trimmings that come with a well-specced GT. I'm not saying weight reduction would be a waste of time, but 100kg here or there isn't going to turn it into a caterham.
Having said that I do think the zed is fairly well suited (ish) to the ring - plenty of long straights to access its party trick (torque) and it doesn't seem to put too much stress on the brakes. As others have said, be extremely careful out there. It's a very intimidating place and certainly not recommended to track newbies - the automotive equivalent of the grandmaster's dojo so be prepared for a financial battering if you mess things up. Absolutely nothing wrong with just taking it easy and enjoying the atmosphere of being in a very special place.
^ Ekona's advice is sound, but I'd put more driver training, and much more driver training before tyres. Oh and remember that regardless of what tyres you have, they don't work on grass. The nanosecond you come off the tarmac, you're going to hit something. remember that.

Good point, thanks. I will have a look at relocating the battery, would be nice to have as much traction as possible at the back!Exactly what I said.
At Spa in March, I deliberately left the spare in on the MR2 (it sits in the frunk) as I wanted more weight over the nose to get the car to turn in as conditions weren't great. It helped massively, and made the car far more nimble than if I'd removed it to save a couple of kilos.
Utilising the weight you have is as important as losing it. For example, relocating the battery to the boot would be a great idea as something easy to do.

I have been thinking about taking the rear wiper off! Not to save weight but I think it looks funny with a wiper at the rearGet that boot weight out. Helps with boot pop and gives your boot struts a hand. Whilst you're there, the rear wiper doesn't do much except add weight and spoil her beautiful lines
It's so easy even I could do it!
