  1. Hi guys

So I clipped my wing mirror which broke the glass and appears to have damaged the backing/retaining plate behind it.

Is it possible to purchase the insides of a passenger side wing mirror or know where to get them from? Im only coming across the full unit when I search online.

    Thanks

    Scott

  2. Replaced spark plugs and the car is running a lot better but still missing slightly. My OBD reader is now coming up with a P0300 but saying its a pending fault whereas before it was coming up as a current fault, not too sure what that means.

Thanks Adrian, once I have pin pointed the root cause of my misfire ill be investing in the repair kit!

Glad you just put this up I’ve just changed my plugs and my back right hand (standing in front of the car) was covered in oil .. rest are dry .. will keep and eye on on this post :)

Standing in front of the car I have oil in the back right and back left, the rest are dry. Is your car running fine?

Same on my 06, no misfire though... Was led to believe its the rocker cover gasket

Yeah cam cover and rocker cover are the same thing I believe. I have seen repair kits are available to fix this. Maybe youve answered my question there, if yours isnt misfiring then mine must be for a different reason!

  4. Hi guys

I know there are plenty of posts on this but I couldnt seem to find an answer, can oil in the spark plug cylinders cause a misfire?

My 350 is misfiring all the time and I have a p0300 code. The car is running horrendously so I took the coil packs out individually as the car was running to try and determine which cylinder the misfire is coming from and I have also removed my spark plugs to inspect and noticed they have seen better days. So my first port of call is to replace these and go from there.

From researching I see that I am in need of a new cam cover or a cam cover repair kit but id like to resolve the misfiring before tackling that job but if this could cause the misfire I might aswell resolve the cam cover to rule it out.

Sorry for the long post on a topic that is fairly well covered (just cant find the answer!)

  5. Hi guys

My alternator packed up about 8 months ago so I bought a new one from my local motor spares place and fit it and everything seemed good, until the other day when I started the car after stopping at the petrol station and could hear a loud whining noise that increased with engine RPM. That noise decided to disappear but as it did, the battery light came on and the battery was reading 12v when the engine was running. So I realised the alternator had stopped charging and managed a few miles before it totally cut out.

My question is, could there be an underlying issue that im not aware of or is it just a faulty/cheap alternator I have bought?

Cheers for any input, I just dont want to replace the alternator if I am missing something that could cause it to go again!

  6. I have MTEC discs with brembo pads fitted and can't say I noticed anything special about them. Then the other day, under heavy braking, they started juddering like mad. About 5 minutes later they were back to normal. I have no idea why this happened (maybe the discs got too hot) but its put me off this setup and will be looking at different solutions. Just my experience with them, they have been fitted on the car around 2 months so far.
