The pros of the single mas flywheel is it lighter weight compared to the heavy dual mass flywheel, this allows the engine to rev a lot more freely.
The only real downside if a bit of idle chatter which if you drive in traffic a lot could be annoying but the feedback we get from customers is the benefits far out weigh this noise.
I'm sure others will give their opinion
Which has a longer life, DMF or SMF?
-
Pro of SMF is that more power is transmitted to the wheels, so basically it's like free horsepower. Your revs will also rise and fall more easily, so heel and toe is easier (IMHO) and the engine will feel more responsive.
Con is that it can rattle a bit when sat in neutral, and you need to give a fraction more revs when pulling away. You get used to the latter in about 3 mins though.
The rattle isn't anywhere near as bad as some make it out to be, even my missus made no comment over it on any car I've had it done to including the Zed.
That sounds very tempting! . Is there a video or anything for me to hear the rattle?

Hi Jimmy, the earlier cars that have the DE engine have a different clutch to the later HR cars both run a dual mass flywheel. These also wear so when it comes time to change the clutch you will normally need to change this as well.
Many owners use this as a chance to upgrade to a single mass lightweight flywheel which with its lighter mass allows the engine to rev more freely.
We sell a complete uprated organic clutch kit and single mass light weight flywheel from Xtreme which has been very popular since its release http://www.350z-uk.c...nc-smf-350z-de/
We can also supply the OEM spec Exedy kit with either an OEM dual mass flywheel or single mass lightweight flywheel at a competitive price. All in stock for next day delivery.
2 to 3 hours should see the clutch changed if its a competent mechanic.
Please get in touch if I can help further
Hi Ewen, thanks for the information. I would be interested in the OEM spec Exedy with either the Dual Mass Flywheel or the Single Mass Flywheel.
What are the pros and cons for DMF and SMF?
Another +1 for the Exedy clutch here, I ran it on mine on road & track and it was a very nice piece of kit. Good feel, nice bite, not heavy at all.
I would also definitely pair it with a lightweight flywheel at the same time, for the performance benefit at pretty much zero extra labour cost it's an absolute no brainer.
I would love to buddy but what would be the pros and cons of the DMF and SMF?

Hi fellow Z members,
Unfortunately my clutch is slipping . When I accelerate the revs picks up but the speed takes it time to climb.
I remember reading a while back about the newer 350z's having a lighter clutch in comparison with the earlier 350z's? Mine is the earlier 350z and I would love to have a lighter clutch as mine is really heavy!
Since I will have to get the clutch changed:
1. Which is the best clutch to go for and from where can I get it?
2. What price will I roughly be looking at for parts and labour?
3. Do I need to change the dual mass flywheel?
Any advice much appreciated

Hi,
Are these for the 350z or 370z?
I would say 370 except the HFCs which Will also fit the HR 350
Damn! Only if the HFCs fit the DE 350 I would have bought it .

Haha I almost fell for it

if you dont want it to rub i recommend getting getting the 22+ offset versions will still looks good
mine with 19x9.5 et22 19x10.5 et22 a few years back on 20mm nismo springs
Thanks Stevo. It looks awesome here!
Will et22 give me enough clearance for the Brembos? I don't know an awful lot about the Brembo clearance, I'm only going by what I have been reading. I know at the time you were lowered on 20mm, but will I be okay on 30mm? Sorry for asking too many questions but I just want to make sure I go for the correct set up
-
19 x 9.5 et12
19 x 10.5 et 12
you will need arches rolled to go flush
Will the arches rub even after having it rolled and car lowered on 30mm?
Possible depends how worn your shocks are how stiff your springs are, what tyres your going to run and how you hard you drive it
Haha it's never simple is it
Clearly not lol. I intend to install Eibach 30mm springs with standard shocks. The correct tyre size I believe should be 245/35/19 fronts and 275/35/19 back?
Will this set up be fine for it not to rub?

My question wasn't about a comparison, my question is what off set and width of the alloys do I need to get for my car?

You'll regret selling the LMGT4's! So on that basis, I'm out
Yeah I would keep the LMGT4's!
Thanks for the reassurance guys lol. Has anyone on here got the Varrstoen wheels?
-
Hey everyone,
I have been browsing for a different set of alloys for my 'Z'ena for a while now. Although I love my Nismo LMGT4, I really want the deep dish look, and I like the design of these alloys!
I am unsure what off set and width to opt for? I want to go for the 19" alloys and I want them to sit flush with the arches.
I also do intend to go lower by 30mm on Eibach springs.
Here's a link to the page: http://varrstoen.com...1/#!prettyPhoto
These are the set I have at the moment and will go up for sale once I purchase my new set of alloys
Can you please shed some light????

Lovely car. I think it looks much better now with that spoiler than the V2, more subtle
Thanks
-
I think the V2 spoiler works better with the V2 front bumper, the V1 spoiler would have probably looked better with your V1-ish Aerosync front.
That said, the Blitz looks great and suits your car very, very well... All the exterior mods look great together, very tasteful
The V1 spoiler was my first choice but where it looked great from one angle it didn't look right from another, but that's just my opinion.
looks good, I would upgrade your lights though. they date the car a lot!Haha, the front lights or the back lights?
Like that spoiler a lot.Great choice.
Thanks buddy
Looks real good! I'm not a big fan of the V2 spoiler unless you have the V2 bumper, needs that to pull it off in my opinion. The Blitz looks great, not so in your faceThanks buddy, I felt the same way and I couldn't have been happier

'Z'ena

Ok guys, it's been a very long time since I last updated this thread as last year was a super busy year for me!
You might remember how I changed the standard spoiler on 'Z'ena to a Nismo V2 spoiler and was very indecisive whether I liked it or not........well.........in the end I decided it wasn't for me! So the search for a different spoiler commenced .
I really liked the look of a Blitz style spoiler, so without wasting any time I purchased one from RT-Performance. I had it sprayed and fitted at a body shop nearer to mine .
While I was at it I also purchased a Stubby aerial from Tarmac Sportz and replaced the factory aerial.
Here she is at the body shop:
Here are some more pictures with the new spoiler fitted:
I am very pleased with the look of the new spoiler to say the least as I think it flows perfectly with the lines of 'Z'ena .

Euro car parts is suggesting I should put in Shell Engine Oil (Helix Ultra 5W-40 5Ltr). Will this be fine?
-
More mileage means more wear, means you may want a thicker oil from cold to prevent further wear.
Thanks for shedding light buddy
