  1. I've been reading through various posts about Hr clutch/pedal/ SLave cylinder operation and life spane and I'm just after some clairifcation on things, as I am going to look at a HR. Is there a definitive way of checking for parts failing? I have read that the fluid can change colour and get debris floating in it, is this a definate sign? Also some issues with a floppy pedal, is this related to the slave cylinder?
  2. Has anyone ever tried gluing a patch to this area on the inside of the hood prior to it tearing to protect it?
  3. Anyone know the cause for the roof to tear/get slit at the corners near the doors?
  4. I dont know what is the bigger shock, two sets of belts in 40K or the £90 an hour labour charge . I thought it was just decorators that charged that much an hour. Is that common for the belts. *newbie Question alert* What do the belts actually connect? Air con and alternator?
  5. Thanks for all the replies. Are the plugs a P3 service item or 'if required' Are the belts easy to change?
  6. I've put a holding deposit on the car till I can get to view, that's why it says sold.
  7. Hi All I've put a holding deposit on this http://www.djwoodcock.co.uk/showroom/nissan/350z . Does any one regonise or know any history on it? It's MM07 ORX. I'm going to look at it in a couple of days and buy it if it's straight. According to the sales guy it's a mixed 7 stamps in the book, first 4 Nissan. Added extras are parrot Bluetooth and a cobra back box. It may also have k&n panel filters. The sales guy has told me new elastics for the roof are on order and will be fitted before I buy it. He 'says' the rest of the hood is immaculate and hasn't got any issues I've seen on here with the rear seam splitting or the rivets on on roof bow coming adrift. Is there anything else I should be checking for, either condition or invoice for work.
  8. Get yourself comfortable and strap in for the ride.
  9. F1 Asymetrics have won or been top 3 in Evo, Whatcar etc. tyre tests for a couple of years now. I used to run FK452's religously as they were awesome for the price point. Since they stopped making them I have tried a mix of conti's Bridgestones and IMO F1's are the best of the bunch. Good grip wet or dry, low road noise, extra load gives you a good stiff... sidewall and they wear well too.
  10. It's these little nuggets of real world info that I've joined for, plus some banter. Thanks again guys. I do like sexy, who doesn't really don't like giving more than I already do, to the wallet bandits. I mean government. Do all uk gt's come with satnav or was it an option, if it was an option is it worth holding out for or not that great? The sat nav in my Civic is quite good but updated map discs ain't cheap.
  11. Thanks for the warm welcomes and the heads up on the classified ad. I'll be checking that out in a minute. With regards to the oil consumption, is it fixable or just something you have to live with like the RX8? My derv uses a bit of oil to apparently keep emmisions down, is this the same thing with the revup?
  12. Hi All Back in the market for something for myself, now the family car is paid for. The 350Z appears to be everything I'm looking for, without a winning Lotto ticket to hand. I wont be buying one for a little while, as i'm in no rush. i'm still not sure exactly which coupe variant to go for either. I'm looking at spending between £7-8k so obviously a tidy 313 is out of the window but opinions, pitfalls and info on spec variations will be gratefully received. Red is my prefered colour but seeing as it appears to only have been applied to these cars by the back end of a unicorn, I will take any colour as long as it is right. I'm in Manchester and may pop along to some NW meets to check out some motors and soak up as much info as possible on ownership, just dont take the **** out of the derv to much when I arrive. I'll apologise now for any questions resulting in 'use the search function replies'. Everyone has done it at least once. If anyone wants me I'll probably be in the technical and buyers guide forums for some time.
