  1. Slight anti-climax.. Called into work today but I'll take the test drive tomorrow instead and I'll update the thread afterwards. Thank you to everyone who's replied
  2. I haven't committed yet and my cash will stay firmly in my pocket until I'm happy. Tomorrow will go a long way to deciding if an auto is for me but the purpose of the thread is to find out if there's any peculiarities and/or potential issues to look out for.
  3. I pretty sure the MOT was updated a couple of years ago in an attempt to stop/deter people from doing this. The aesthetics aren't for me but if you go ahead then be prepared to face some problems with the MOT and/or the law.
  4. All being well I'm off to look at a 370 tomorrow. I've been on the forum, and researching, 370's for months and I'd like to think I know them pretty much inside out. I was planning on going for a manual but an auto has come up for sale near me at a great price so I'm going to have a look tomorrow. Besides all the usual checks is there anything specific I should be looking for or listening for when it comes to the automatic gearbox? From comments on here those that have auto's seem to love them and I can't recall any horror stories but I just want to be as educated as possible. Griff
  5. I use this - http://www.chemicalguysuk.com/All_Purpose_Cleaner_p/allcln.htm Even diluted 20:1 it seems to cut through anything.
  6. Pulled up next to me while I was working.
  7. Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,Blub,BBBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!! People will think WTF until they watch the video lol
  8. I'm with Admiral. 36, 19 years NCB - £420 protected NC but I do live in a WS1 postcode which isn't going to help.
  9. Taken from the 2009 brochure - Like others have said just select the heated rear window function and the mirrors will heat up too.
  10. I thought the title said Specsaver too! Irony huh...
  11. Not a fan of the Mk1 at all. Mk2's getting much more affordable and look much superior IMO. Lots of kit included as standard too.
  12. Thanks! I love the sound but not sure I could live with it on a day to day basis. Can you let us know how it's been after a couple of weeks?
  13. Any chance of some in car footage to see how it sounds when driving?
  14. Rules, regulations, armchair experts.... It all comes down to one thing - common sense. If you step out into the road without looking, regardless of stationary vehicles, then don't come crying to me if you get hit by a motorbike, bike, tandem, horse, jogger, or something else using the road.
  15. Definitely keep them separate. No offense to 350 owners but I've zero interest in the 350 at all so to combine the two marques into one section would be a nightmare. Like others I use the "View new content" function and filter out/in the stuff i want to see.
  16. http://cpc.farnell.com/nilfisk-alto/c110-4-5-x-tra/pressure-washer-110bar/dp/SI16060?whydiditmatch=clone&matchedProduct=SI1606005 £59 at CPC. Not sure how long for or how many in stock? Bargain at that price.
  17. Just the three colours; Pearl White, Kuro black and Black Rose.
  18. To be fair to him it's pinned at the top of the forum so he didn't exactly have to look hard.
  19. Having lived in Walsall all my life, knowing a bunch of their customers and having used MIJ myself I'd avoid them at all costs. Absolute bunch of cowboys. My 172 Cup failed it's MOT a few years ago as the back box was corroded. Rather than replace it with an OEM part I went to MIJ. They asked what style tip I wanted (Hidden behind rear bumper like the OEM exhaust) and how noisy I wanted it (low). A few hours later I picked up the car and felt embarrassed to drive it. I complained the next day and the manager who was absent the day before agreed it was ridiculously loud and they did the work again with better results. Fast forward two years and it failed the MOT again. MIJ don't use any clamps and use welds instead. This time it failed as exhaust gases were leaking from their weld and the MOT tester showed me exactly how bad of a job they'd done. Having a "lifetime" warranty I went back to MIJ who tried to deflect any responsibility at first before agreeing to re-weld the joint. I sat there for two hours before they told me they'd done the work and I could finally leave. At the MOT retest I was called in to look at the car and they showed me where MIJ has used silicone sealant to "bodge" the old weld, a job that took them 30 seconds. 20. Is it me or do they look like the sort of thing you'd see in those JML adverts? "Not available in shops" - Yeah we know why!
  21. Check to see if it's had the steering lock replaced?!?
  22. Mr Pedantic can say what he likes, as he'd be wrong. In your example, a 275/35/20 sidewall is indeed 96mm. Profile is always related directly to the width, which is why it's used as an aspect calculator. It would be useless otherwise, as who decides what a 'standard' tyre is? Dunlop do a pretty good guide to all tyre marking here. My rears on the 911 are 305/30, which makes them 91.5mm tall. The fronts are 235/35, which makes them 82.25mm tall. It seems the internet agrees with Ekona (And Griff) and I am incorrect.
