  1. Thanks for the replies. I decided to go for the Cobra resonated from Tarmac, thanks Chris. I was initially annoyed at the MOT failure but decided to turn a bad thing into a good thing by treating myself. :)

  2. Hi

It looks like I need a new exhaust due to a corroded mid/rear box joint resulting in a failed MOT.

I'd like new but I'm looking to keep the costs (and noise) down so was looking at stock or maybe Cobra resonated. Open to other suggestions though..

Traders - Can you please give me some prices please.

    Thanks

  3. I wanted to get the opinion of the forum about something that happened today.

I'm having some work done on my house, some of which is the installation of a new boiler. The plumber has removed a load of copper pipe and the old immersion heater. He left the immersion heater in the garden over the weekend so I put it in the skip. When I got home from work today I noticed that the immersion heater had gone so I asked him about it. Turns out he has sold it along with the copper pipe.

I'm not too happy about that and told him so. He got very, very defensive and said that it was perfectly normal.

So, am I over-reacting, or was I right to pull him up on it? And what should I do?

  4. Hi,

So, I fitted my Pioneer 8500 a while ago (awesome bit of kit) and have been very sad in getting the button lights and font colours to match the orange internal display lights of the Z.

I'm interested and maybe looking for inspiration as to what background picture people are using for their headunits that have that capability. Are you just using one of the default ones? I currently have a picture of Gullfoss in Iceland which is a great picture but looks quite out of place. Am now thinking of having a Nissan logo to make it look a bit more OEM. What does everybody else have?

    Cheers,

  5. Hello,

I'm having a bit of trouble fitting my Pioneer AVH-X8500BT I've been following the guides and still have a (probably dumb) question.

In this picture, stolen from Lexx's other tread (hope that's okay) there are the RCA type red and white and also black and yellow connectors.

Am I right in thinking that the red and white ones plug into the front audio inputs on the back of the HU?

What are the yellow and black connectors for? Is it the rears? What about the sub?

Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

    Thanks,

    Mark

  6. Hi all,

Apologies if I'm replicating. I've searched but couldn't find what I wanted.

I'm about to shell out on a Pioneer 8500BT, the extra bits needed from Incartec, and a rear view camera, Can any one who has fitted an after market device answer a couple of questions.

    1) Has anyone used the the Pioneer camera? It's £72 on Amazon which seems extortionate. Plenty of much cheaper ones on eBay. I can't believe it is worth the extra.

    2) For the hand free phone stuff, can I still use the OEM in car mic?

    Thanks,

    Mark.

P.S. Speakers and sub to be replaced another time ;)

  7. Mine got its first clean and wax since I bought it at the end of January! Well, we just haven't had the weather.

The clean really showed that there are some areas that need some touch up paint and that the front of the Z seems to attract all manner of rubbish.

Next week a full effort with clay bar etc. following the useful guide elsewhere on this forum.

I used Meguiars for the first time and am now addicted to the smell of their Ultimate Wax :)
