  1. Yep have had my ginge 03 for 4.5 years - done 46k (currently at 104k total). Am STILL in the "honeymoon period" with this car. Never selling. (I couldn't bear to see someone else driving away with it.)
  2. I think you're doing alright there, mate! Have an 03 with 101k on the clock (for 4.5 years.. 10k a year). Have done the bananas and the exhaust. There's been talk of underside rust and a bit of gearbox shenanighans.. MOT due in July so we'll see what we shall see.. ;-) How's your clutch btw?
  3. No Engine Warning Light? I've had two things that were similar - the first one was an intermittent loss of power that gradually got more regular. Turned out to be a dying coil pack. The other one I had, which sounds a lot more like yours (given the jolt you mention) was a faulty crank shaft sensor. Both showed up as EWL's. My clutch was on the way out when I got it at 58k but have heard of them lasting a lot longer. It sounds like you have a number of issues and need to get your Zed looked at by a decent garage who know what they're doing.
  4. Hi Everyone, Have an 03 350 and I think my rear (standard) Bose amp has blown as a few weeks back there was a loud snap, crackle and pop after which the sound behind me died, only to be replaced by a really annoying electronic buzz which kicks in whenever the ignition is on. I don't plan to replace the amp as I don't use the stereo (I prefer to hear the roar of my Zed and the insanity of my inner dialogue.. and a bit of Radio 4.. but I don't need rear speakers for that) but at the same time I need to get the buzz sorted as it is starting to drive me mad and knock the shine off my enjoyment of the car. Anyone know if there is a fuse I can pull for the rear amp and which one it is? I assume it's in the compartment next to the driver's footwell. Thanks Don
  5. Happy days!!!!! Have had my Zed nearly 4 years and it is a source of utter joy in my life!
  6. Wow. Nice. Sure enough, there are other cars out there.. However, once bitten, forever smitten! Enjoy your new Zed!!
  7. Exactly! We're supposed to be talking about Zeds here not correct spellings or the appropriate usage of the semicolon - Jeez!
  8. Wow. GLWTS. (I don't think it will hang around for long.)
  9. I hadn't spotted that so well done mate! (Of course, from now on I'll see it every time..)
  10. Great to hear of another Zed coming to Darlo! Will keep an eye open for you. I drive an '03 ginge so if you see one in or around Darlo it's probably me. (Have had it just over 3 years and am still absolutely loving it.)
  11. I know, I shouted out, "That's a Zed, get in!" really loud! Fortunately, there were only 4 of us in the auditorium and the other 2 were sat miles away.
  12. They know Zeds inside out. Over the past three years, they've fixed everything on my '03 and for the past 11 months it has driven superbly. Yes, they are not the cheapest I'm sure but they are cheaper than the local dealership and the quality of work and the customer service is of the highest standard. If you are after a specific piece of work getting done, ask them to quote. It costs nowt!
  13. Yeah my Zed needs doing too.. might I suggest Falcon Performance in Middlesbrough? They're exactly what you're looking for quality-wise.
  14. Yeah for me they should test using all 3 main configs FF FR 4wd would give a more complete overview of what the rubber can or can't do. I think its more complicated than that , I reckon vehicle weight is a huge factor as well but ultimately its down to how the driver feels and that is entirely subjective , anyone who gets to the limit of their tyres regularly on the public road is probably doing something wrong Absolutely agree with this. There are so many external factors that can affect the performance of the tyres (without actually being related to the tyres themselves); the weather conditions, how you are driving the car, mud on the road etc. Like Rich says, if your tyres are surprising you then you need to lighten your boot.
