I paid around £50 to have mine replaced with Nissan belts on an DE, looking how easy it is I'd say have a go yourself though.
-
Problem solved. Worryingly the prop hadn't been tightened to the diff. Now it's tight there's no more noise.
Thanks for all the suggestions and help guys.
-
Yeah I'd read that could be the cause so I put plenty of grease in there too. Keep the ideas coming please guys. I'll report back tomorrow when I've tried the pads.
-
Thanks for the reply. Yeah I've got the springs in, I will have a look at copper greasing the back of the pads but it seems strange its only just started after having the diff mounts changed?
And I've edited the post to correct (autocorrect on this tablet), thanks

I after any recommendations of what to try next.
I've had my diff mounts changed to pollybushes and now I'm getting a ticking noise when slowing down to stop, you can only hear it at slow speeds and not when accelerating. It sounds like someone is holding a playing card in spokes and is rotational with the wheels.
I've tried the axle greasing solution (great write up by the way) and its still the same. I've also looked at the break pads and they seem as normal.
Any ideas what to try next?

Thanks 14N, yes they are wider then the standard setup, if I remember right the rears are 285 ill check tonight though. I asked in another thread about sizes and Aliveboy give me the following information:
The PCD for them is 5x114 (5x114.3 if you're being fussy) obviously they're 20's
-
Yeah they are, thanks for the bump!
-
Yeah they are dunlop sp sports as skidder said.
Your welcome to come and have a look if you want?
I forgot to add theres 20 wheel nuts too.
-
These were on my car when I brought it back in December and I have returned it to standard with the rays so they are up for sale.
They fit on the car with no spacers or rolling needed and really do fill the arches as you can see from the pictures on the car below.
There in good condition but not perfect because there are some curbing marks, ive tried to photograph all of the scratches to give a true representation of them.
The tyres on them have loads of tread left, ive taken pictures with a depth gauge in them to show just how good they are, as you can see the fronts have just over 7mm and the rears have just under 6mm.
Sorry for being so pic heavy!
Im looking for £600 collected or buyer to arrange a courier, collection preferred due to the size and weight.
Wheels are located in Dudley, West Midlands.
And finally a few on the car:

I had this when I first got the car so took it back to the garage, the mechanic there greased the master cylinder entry as that was dry and I've had no problems since - might be worth a try?

Haha I did wonder if it was tongue in cheek but thought I'd make sure.
Thanks again for the help, this has got to be the best forum ive been on!
-
Thanks again guys, I can't say I've ever heard of xraying tyres before selling them??
They have got some curbing marks on a few of them so im not expecting top money, I was just looking for an indication of what to put them up for. Looks like I need to get them off the car and give them a good clean.
Can anyone help with the sizes for them - sorry im a noob to aftermarket wheels?
-
Thanks for the information, I've really got no idea what to expext for them. Ill keep an eye on ebay to see if any more go on.

Brilliant results, I got into machine polishing on an St205, I'll have to see if I can dig out some photos. I think that's best best results I've seen on a red gt4, good work!
