  1. all depends on where you want to switch the light from.

All you will have at the last light if the light in the alcove is the last down light (if its wired that way) would be a switched live, neutral and earth.

If you wanted to switch it from the same switch location as your current switch but on separate switch to the other 11 down lights then you need to run a new switched live and earth from that switch to the light.

This would mean running the cable up/ thur the wall into the ceiling void. Normally lifting the floor above and routing the cable to the down light. Or entering the roof space if a space above. If its a flat roof then its all down to which way the joints run and weather there are any cross members bracing the ceiling joists. generally if you cann't get into the ceiling void then it you need to stitch the ceiling and drill holes in each joist.

For the cost of this sort of job people generally wont bother having it done.

The sparkies will also want to know how old your consumer unit is if your gas and water bonds are in earth 10mm and if you have rcd protection.

    Thanks for the info!

Might make it a bit more tricky that there is already two switches in the room for the downlights, one switch at one door, one at the other.

Everything is rewired recently with the new 17th Ed consumer unit and everything is earth bonded

  2. Just a quicky before I get funked off by a local sparky....

I have 12 LED down lights daisy changed along my kitchen.

The 12 in the row is currently in an alcove, I would like this to be switched separately, Is it as easy as just removing the downlight and adding a switch into the end of the circuit and then having the downlight after the switch in the alcove?

If so its reasonable for me as it would be key-hole surgery more than a full on tear the ceilings down job.

Asking for opinions so I know they will be genuine if they tell me its not as easy as it seems.

    Thanks

  4. Hi all,

Screen is in perfect condition as It was replaced less than 3 weeks ago when I cracked it!

The back does have wear and tear marks, along with three good scuffs on the back ( see pictures) , it is WELL used, I learnt my lesson too late in the game regarding a case on the rear!

It will be sent with Royal Mail - Tracked and insured.

Please see pictures of the phone, I am after a speedy sale for extra Xmas funds.

  6. OR even If I am to wire two of these switches in, one at top, one at bottom.

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Foot-Switch-In-Line-Push-Press-Button-Use-2-or-3-Core-Flex-Choose-7-Colours-/141185140507?var=&hash=item20df4a471b:m:mA-P5vDZu5dSOSPZiKCuvew

if the bottom light switch is pressure, will it "over ride" the top switch and turn the lights on?

And then when the top is pressure it will turn it off? or will they just counteract each other? and both have to be turned on for the lights to work?

    Regards

  7. Hi all,

Anyone have any experience with the LED strip lights?

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/171576163813?var=470581241966

I need to run a total of 9 meters, cut into two sections of 4.5M.

They will run up along the stairs on both sides of the stairs. housed in this casing :

    https://www.wholesaleledlights.co.uk/1m-thin-aluminium-profile-extrusion-flat.html

I will run all the wires from underneath the stairs, but would ideally like to fit a PIR motion sensor at the top and the bottom of the stairs, so they turn on when walking past, from the top or the bottom...

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/351531410144

    Will 8A be too much?

Anybody have a good idea on how to do this? will the standard transformer and the 2 core extension wire be enough to evenly power the LED strips?

I am assuming it will be a simple circuit with two switches, not at the top, and one at the bottom.

Anyone have experience or a general "know how"?

    Regards

  8. Here are my last 4 cars... in 4 years  ( I won't bore you with the likes of the ST etc etc etc... straight onto the "good stuff")

Cayman S - Full techart conversion, at the time it was one of roughly 50 in the EU and very few in the UK (I only knew of one other in the UK)

    155h3pk.png

Next was my 350z, with a dodgy looking kit on it

    a599qs.png

I then went back to a Cayman S... pretty standard just had a full Porsche AERO kit on it. and some other nice touches

    2lc4kno.png

I then had "grown up syndrome" yes I'm only 24.. was 23 at the time... But needed a "bigger car" to get the misses and the dog in

So bought my Current car Audi S5.. 4.2L Petrol V8. the most thirsty car I've ever had... but wouldnt have it anyway... kind of, its for sale anyway.. so watch this space. New Cayman GTS or if I can get into the good books again of my local friends at Porsche a GT4 If they don't stick a hefty mark up on it, currently sold out all pre-orders when I enquired a few weeks ago

  9. Ive owned 2 Cayman S' in the past 3 years or so, I am pretty switched onto what to look out for, what not to get, what 100% to get etc etc.

drop me a PM if you have any specific questions.

I built my first CS to techart spec, if you have instagram search for SUPERCARSTALKER he owns it now, it cruises around london all day getting photographed lol A guy from south africa bought it off me, then it ended up down in london somehow.

can't miss it, bright red with a badass kit

  11. Glad to see so many vapers here, can't believe I've only just seen this thread!

I own 1 high street vape shop and have a 50/50 partnership with another, Currently in the middle of setting up an online base and we do make our own branded E juice,

If anyones looking for new suppliers, new products or general info shoot me a PM, I can do good discounts compared to high street shops, Also look for a few testers for our new E-Juice, it will be on a "you choose we mix" basis, so can make any PG to VG Ratio you desire, and any nicotine strength upto 24MG, in increments of 1, instead of the standard 3,6,12,18,24.

Bottle prices vary slightly but the "average shop" sells quality juice 20ml for £10-£15 upwards

Our premium juice - mixed using your own ratios, or our standard ratios will be £12.50 but you get 30ml of juice :)

I have suppleirs for all the high end equipment like the smok, kangers etc etc

drop me a message :) I am a Members trader here so you know your in good company!
