Facia arrived yesterday.
All fitted now and looks and sounds great.
the only disappointment with the Pioneer systems (appradio systems) is the need to spend an additional £110 on cables to connect fully to the iPhone 5.
Without these cables you can not use the phone apps on the HU.
Bit of a rip off!
Should be built into the system.
I will not be buying them as it looks very untidy too.

If anyone wants to buy the line booster from me, let me know or i will return it to the seller.
-
Result from Nissan too..... They are refunding me with £100 as a gesture of good will!

Did you change the sub too?
-
Ah......I see!
-
I assume you didn't do Busters fix then Dave?
-
Just took the HU out and altered the harness as per instruction.......fantastic!
Thanks for this Buster.

Just took the HU out and altered the harness as per Busters thread!
What a difference!
Typically, I had already ordered the line booster etc before I found this fix.
-
Thanks Mrs Buster!
Typical though....I ordered the line booster etc today!
I will use the "Buster" method instead I think.
-
I don't personally know buster, but I read his thread on after market head units and the rca chop. Wow! Watta difference! I bought an alpine DVD/cd player which sounded awful!!! I followed the 'buster' mod and it sounds 1000% better!!!! Thank you.
WHERE IS THIS POST ABOUT THE RCA CHOP?
-
As i have to remove the HU again shortly to fit the correct facia, I plan to to a line booster in to get some volume back.
From what ive read on here, I only boost the front speakers?
Im still not 100% sure on the RCA connections either.
The red/white from the ICT cable is obviously front speakers.
We then only have the yellow/black RCAs from the ICT.
Currently they are pluged into the rear speaker output on the HU.
This leaves the SW output on the HU with nothing connected.
Should i get an RCA splitter and split the yellow/black and plug into the rear speaker outputs and the SW outputs on the HU?
-
Really?
There was nothing I could see.
The adaptor kit only comes with the 2sets of leads.
-
Edit on last post.
The other RCAs are one yellow and one black (not red)
-
If the unit only has front x2 and rear x 2 rcas then you have it correct, you can splice the sub into either of the rears no problem. Some units have s seperate sub rca some don't.
What the volume like? Do you need to boost it?
Cheers Dave.
The unit has outputs for front, rear and sub woofer.
The wiring adaptor only has a white and red RCA for front speakers and yellow and red RCAs which I have plugged into the rears on the unit. There appears to be something coming from the sub, so I assume the Bose unit takes care of sending the signal?
The volume is not very good to be honest.
I need to look into the cost of a booster and how to fit.

Found out why facia doesn't fit. It's the wrong one. It is for the ore face lift. Ordered the correct one today.
-
Just fitted my new HU.
Anyone that has fitted a pioneer unit - which RCA plugs went where into the HU?
I put white/red into fronts and yellow/black into rears (when connected to sub it didn't seem to power rear speakers).
Can someone confirm this is correct please?
Also, the facia is crap.
The original radio has three recesses at the bottom to take three pins from the gear lever surround to allow it all to click together.
The new facia does not!
I've emailed the seller to get his comments.

Thanks.
Ive gone with the Pioneer unit as i have had good experience with Pioneer in the past.

Appradio 2 for £199 on Amazon?
£199 plus another 10% off at halfords.
-
I am looking at a new head unit.
Narrowed it down to the following two.
Any advice from any owners / experts please as to which is the better unit.
Pioneer AVH X2500BT
JVC AW-61BTE
Comparable on price and features.
Cheers

Wasn't questioning your ability mate, it was a poke at Nissan.
-
I will do tomorrow morning, it's dark now and also raining
Have you re fitted them now?
-
Im going to give this a go as soon as the weather clears up here. None of my fans work either so I hope this is the fix for it
It will work.
Either that or hand over £1000 for Nissan to do it!
-
Zed well on the way to being repaired. Engine from Zmanalex, being fitted by Mark and the guys at Abbey Motorsport in the next couple of weeks. I'm off on holiday so will be a nice surprise when I get back
All at your own cost I guess?
From the experience I have had with Nissan so far, they are a complete waste of time.
-
It is sad. My car has full Nissan service history and I planned to keep it up.
I will most certainly not be taking it to Nissan now.
I will sort it out at CS in future.
