Glad this has worked out for the best. Its also very cool to hear about strangers helping each other out. I sincerely hope I get to meet this infamous "Zed Shed" team and at the very least, buy em both a beer!

I have finally managed to get the sort of Zed I have been craving for ages.

I wanted a GT4 originally, but they are like Hens Teeth, so I plumped for something a little newer.

I actually got it about 2 weeks ago, this is the first time however I have been able to upload some pics.

44k on the clock - 07 model with (apparently) the aerodynamic pack. Spoke to Abbey about doing some essential work (like a P3 and a few other bits). It also will need new tyres fairly soon but aside from that, its flawless and epic to drive (as I am sure everyone reading this is well aware).

I would also like to take this opportunity to suggest that early in the new year, I would like to try and arrange some sort of meet for the many Zed owners that seem to live really close by. (West Sussex)

I will post something up along these lines after Xmas, but if anyone is interested in being involved, feel free to say so now!

KyleR imo, is quite right. I think all those guys who sit here and say "the girl is irrelevent, i never look at her, just the car" is talkin out of his arse. Deny that fact all they want.

IMO. Sex sells, infact thats not an opinion, its recognised as being solid advertising fact. However using sex to sell products also has the unavoidable consequence of catagorising your brand/product at a particular level.

This level is usually set by the quality of the advertising, the models and the photography used.

I think most people would agree that these days, to think Nice car + Girl general conjures up images of the late 20thC when most of the "girls" were generally rather rough and tbh didn't have a clue what they were trying to look sexy next to.

This would be bad for an upmarket high quality company to try and make use of.

That said, there are also many examples of women being used to sell cars and it works really well.

I think that if a company could convince me that the girls in the pictures next to thier products either A. had a genuine vested interest in said product OR B. knew what they were holding/standing next to. Then it could work.

But the model would need to be tastefully dressed, attractive without being obviously plastic or fake. A great Idea would be to use employee's or maybe past customers of products that also happen to be roastingly hot babes! Otherwise, i would think that a big buidget for high quality models and photographers would be required to avoid the tacky stigma

It doesnt work for most things, I dont think it would make sense to have a model holding the next generation fuel pump in her hands or something (although i bet a good photographer could probably prove me wrong here) but if done properly, Sex sells!

and tyres are always a good negotiating point. If they are sh*t, cry a bucket and explain the pain and money required to put proper shoes on the old girl!

Zed's are pretty reliable and the good buyer guides generally list what to look out for.

Wealth of knowledge to be found here if you look carefully and some excellent members that really know thier stuff.

remember to look at the Traders on here for things like Parts and insurance etc etc.

IMO (and everyones is different) - You wanna look to spend £6k for an 04 upto £10k for an 07, obviously, need service history and they MUST be Black..... its the only good colour for a Zed
