  1. Hi Brett,

I presume these are sold vacuum packed because they are fairly large as you could imagine. I will see how small I can get it and look into postage costs. Preference would still to be getting a collection but I will get back to you.

Mike, on the website it looks like they come in a storage bag, do you have that? I'd have thought it'd be ok to compress into a cardboard box for posting?

  2. many thanks 370mike. was a little worried likes. only had the car 3 weeks now and at the min always run on shell. but if thats the chase makes my life so much easyer.

I started off running mine only on V-power then Nitro or whatever its called now, then out of necessity one day had to top up with Murco Super unleaded, after that I tried the BP ultimate, then Tesco Momentum &lastly Sainsbury's. I've not noticed any difference in performance, economy, engine noise etc. etc. between any of the fuels. Now I just fill up with whatever's nearest when I need it. Much easier than hunting down Shell stations!

  3. That's what I'm thinking, during the running in process normally you see a certain amount of metallic particles in the first oil change. A lot of new cars do not require "running in" but as Nissan are recommending it, I would presume it's for a reason.

I think I will feel happier with new oil before I hit the 9K or 1 year mark.

  4. I'm currently running in (according to the manual) my new 370Z, I've done about 200 miles so far out of the prescribed 1200.

I'm thinking I should drop the oil & change the filter before the book service interval (9000 miles) although the book doesn't say anything about this.

    What do you reckon?

    Cheers

    Berty

  5. Thanks for all the replies chaps, good to hear it's possibly not an issue.

For those that asked the car is for sale with a trader. I'd much rather buy off an enthusaiast but I have a bit of a hurdle in that I need to offload a Land Rover first to make space on the drive.

The Landy was just a fun vehicle but I never use it anymore so want to get rid. I'll probably never see the value of it if I chop it in but I want to get it moving as quickly as possible. I'm happy to sell it privately as there's nothing wrong with it, but I don't want to get stuck advertising it for ages.

The trader possibly won't take the Landy as it's pretty extensively modified & would appeal to an enthusiast more than a casual buyer.

I need a Zed now!

  6. Hi,

    Newbie hopeful owner here :)

I've started looking for a Zed & was after some advice, I can't find much info on the net about headgaskets on these engines failing which I guess is a good sign as it can't be that common?

I've viewed a car this week which overall looks pretty good, but whilst checking it over noticed some mayo in the oil filler cap, also a little around the threads in the fill hole in the rocker cover.

Couldn't see any bubbling in the coolant when it was running, no excessive smoke from the exhaust but I've had bad luck with head gaskets on Rover V8 engines in the past (know this is a proper built engine compared to that  ) & I'm nervous about getting caught out!

I'm probably going to pass on this one because of the mayo, shame as it has a lot which is right. Local car, GT model, 54 plate, FSH at local Nissan dealership, 49,000, clean, couple of modifications. Stainless exhaust, Jim Wolf air cleaner & shield, double din touch screen stereo.

What do you reckon, steer clear?

    Thanks & regards,

    Brett
