I swear topgear made copy that's fits UK Zeds now, one that avoids the diff cover? May be worth emailing them and checking
What I should of done in the first place tbh! But cool Il double check with them then
-
Okay guys thanks for the advice, Il give it a miss then, passing thought thats all seeing the price etc. Anyone know if anyone makes the HKS rep to fit UK spec zeds then? As I read the ebay ones dont fit properly!
-
It's still a HKS replica. It's made by Japspeed. What makes you think this will be any good?
No I know, I was referring to the topgear exhausts rep which were apparently made to fit the jap 350z and not the UK spec? If anyone can suggest anywhere that makes them to fit UK spec Zeds then I would go for that 100%!
And Im not sure, hence the post really. But it doesnt look that bad?
-
Yes I know alot of peoples opinions on japspeed lol
But I really do love the look of the HKS dual, but like heck am I spending that much on an exhaust and have heard the HKS reps on ebay dont fit properly! Then I stumbled across this. My k1 fits fine so surely for £500 for a full exhaust cant be that bad?

Damn i want, no doubt the reserve is high though and people already bidding with 5 days left

Did you do the Splicing thing Robboo and cut the wires and then solder? I am going to attempt it this week.
Yep cut the RCA plugs off, stripped the wires down till I saw the coloured wire inside and the ground wire which is just copper inside the original black wire so be careful not to cut these off when you strip them back!
Then cut the speaker plug off and just matched the colour wires, tied them together and soldered Job done

Just wanted to quickly say I had problems with quiet volume on a alpine headunit and this trick worked perfectly! Turn the volume up only a couple numbers and it gets loud quickly! Much better
Thanks guys

Exactly what I was looking for thankyou very much mate!

Okay so Ive replaced my Bose HU with an old alpine from my last car. Fitted it all well and it all works well.
But the sound level even at maximum is definately quieter than it was with the BOSE and how the alpine sounded in my last car.
Surely there must be a reason for this? Did read something about cutting the RCAs and soldering the wires to the high level outputs on the HU but I ended up just confusing myself lol!
Can anybody shed some light?
Cheers

Anyone got some 25/30mm spacers going cheap? Worth a look before I buy new
Cheers

Damn, no worries!
-
Spacers still here? Il have them if so

Would you get more satisfaction from it if you built it yourself? As I know supercharger kits start at £3800ish obviously not stage 4.. but Id have a bigger smile on my face knowing I built it rather than stepping into someone elses work

Okay cool

BBQ spray paint. That's exactly what I used on my K1 bungs, and it came out perfect. I might even have given them a coat of acid etch primer first, but I can't remember now.
just make sure its not B&Q spray paint

Wait Im confused BBQ or B&Q

Thanks guys , Ekona does it look good? Im after the look of the exhaust without the bungs but with the sound of them in!
Exactly the look I was after, and it did the job perfectly.
Nice one, cheers. Trip to B&Q needed then

You will need a high temp paint IMO, when you've found what you need follow the recommendation they give for different materials/primer/prep etc

Okay so following off my last thread
http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/66227-japspeed-k1-question/#entry983226
Dblock mentioned painting the japspeed k1 bungs black to make it look as if the bungs arnt there (if that makes sense!). Now Ive decided this might be worth a go.
But how would I go about doing it? Would I need high temp paint I take it? And do you need to use primer with high temp paint or anything?
Any advice would be great
Cheers

276bhp was 2003 - 2006
300bhp was Revup models (only in 2006 I believe?)
2006 onwards are 313bhp
GT spec has leather seats, cruise control and Brembo brakes as standard
Im sure I read the prov spec ones dont come with ESP/TC either? May be wrong
-
Looks OK for the price, but like smudge said GT spec is what you want
-
Or get a better exhaust and stop being cheap Rob
I am in the summer you muppet! Going for a true dual
-
Ok this may sound stupid but it was a passing thought lol.
Now I dont like how loud the k1 is without bungs (shame as it looks alot better!) but with the bungs in its too quiet .
So my question is, if you were to cut down the length of the inside pipes on the bungs would it sound any different/louder? Or are they designed to be that length?
Spending money on a y-pipe etc will help i know but still doesnt make the bungs look any better! Of course I would love a better exhaust but saving that till summer!
Thanks
