I was using one in our Alfa GT with Bose before i upgraded the head unit.
thanks for the link, seems pretty straight forward now.
-
brilliant advice, thanks.
the rca box should be with me tomorrow, so hopefully I can get this sorted at the weekend.
-
I'm not worried about running the power/earth lines, just needed a little guidance on how best to tap into the bose hu.
-
I don't like how aftermarket head units look, but want more bass than the crappy bose subwoofer delivers.
simple really.
-
ok cheers, for £15 its gotta be worth a punt.

I've used these a couple times with decent results.
would that work if I tapped into the speaker wire going to the std subwoofer? before the bose, amp?
could I also pick up the remote from this location too?
-
The amp is an Alpine V12 MRD-M605 mono amp if that helps?
-
would this work?

the amp is a mono amp
No, that won't work since it connects an aftermarket HU with RCA out puts to the OEM wiring harness.
And you are looking to retain the OEM HU
for now yes, I just want to swap the std subwoofer out.

30mm drop, but still needs time to settle.
25mm rear spacer, none up front.
-
After fitting 30mm springs this weekend i spotted a mk1 golf at the gym and thought it's be rude to not take a few pics lol.

Ive just ordered a nice billet item to delete mine with, will spray it silver to match the car

Few updates.
One of my subwoofer boxes fitted.
Just waiting for my amp to turn up to test the sound before they go on sale.
Finally had enough nice weather on a weekend for me to fit these damn springs.

Got any before and after pics?

Yes fitting it myself, will probably upgrade the head unit at some point, but for now I want to keep it looking oem on the dash.
-
Yes, exactly how I said it would fit a few lists up.
Would need the carpet cutting, or retrimmed.
-
So I need a harness to convert to rca?
-
Does the Bose head unit have any RCA pre outs?
-
Does the bose head unit have an rca output?
I want to run a proper amp to my jbl subwoofer.
Or could I uses the power/audio cables that run to the bose amp?
-
yeah i knew it would be tight, just wondered if you'd considered/tried a larger sub. A 10" is probably plenty for most people anyway i guess....
I've no doubt in my mind that I could build a box to take a 12, but it isn't possible to keep it strictly under the brace.
-
Looking good mate, do you think you could do one with a 12 incher?
Doubt it, that 10 inch one looks to be about as large as will fit, looking at clearance on the top and bottom.
As above, the opening under the brace is only 11inch high, I imagine the only way would be to intrude on the spare wheels well. And be willing to cut your carpet. The sub would be partially hidden!
The only other option would be to build a box that fits in the space on the front side of the brace, not quite sure without measuring up etc...
