  1. Well the situation is like this: The dealer allready bought the "donor" car. It only has 60k km on the clock, has been crashed, but the engine and gearbox remained undamaged. He will repair my car anyway (official main slovenian Nissan dealer told my dealer the engines are the same, appart from ecu, which as I found out is simply not true). Now its up to me, i can get my money back or a repaired car with an one year warranty on the engine. Now if I can be sure that this new engine will work with my facelift car I would prefer to take the car, becouse I got it at a good price + the new warranty. On the other hand, if this combination of facelift car with a pre-facelift engine proves to be problematic I will take my money back. Is it possible to get a pre-facelift 2006 car with a facelift revup engine? Becouse the donor car was first registered 01/2006? And the combniation of old engine and new ecu? Do you guys see any problems there? Thanks again for your replys
  2. Hello guys, I am new on this forum, coming from Slovenia, Europe. I just bought my first 350z, it is a 04/2006 300HP facelift model, 6MT. Sadly my engine exploded (connecting rod failure) in my first week of owning the car. The dealer has been very supportive to replace the engine, no questions asked. He sourced a damaged car, with working engine. It is a 01/2006, 287HP, pre-facelift nissan 350Z, 6MT. Now, I know that in 2006 facelift nissan updated the engine (revup), power went up from 287 to 300 hp, also the redline from 6600 to 7600. I think it was more than just the ecu, camshafts and pistons aswell + variable valve timng on the exhaust IRC. Will the engine from a pre-facelift car (01/2006 287HP, probably non-revup) work with my ECU? If so, what are the HP and rev-limit numbers I can expect? Thank you guys very much for your replys, hope you enjoy your car, my is sadly at the dealer right now
