  1. Does it have to be std? Eibach are still able to be used with stock settings, but have extended range if you need it.

oh okay so i can just use eibach as a standard toe bolt and only need to elongate the hole for full adjustment?

  2. Hi im looking to buy a new stock toe bolt as mine snapped during alignment. I have seen someone post up a website before stating where to buy it direct but cant find it anymore. I have contacted nissan but i doubt they are the quickest but need it asap.

    Thanks in advance :)

  3. Lewis it really depends on your driving style and what you are using the car for. E.g. Track days, fast road or just tootling back & forth to work.

Also depends on how much you want to spend. Big brake kits are generally big money with a new front & rear combo costing around £2K at the lower end of the scale rising to thousands & thousands for a race ready set up.

If you get them second hand then obviously it won't be as much but still you're looking at £1K bear minimum I would say.

If your car is just running standard power or close to it then a good set of discs, pads, braided brake lines and decent brake fluid will be more than good enough for most applications ~ even track use depending on the discs/pads/fluid you use.

If you want people to recommend you something to give you ideas then you need to let them know as I stated the use it's for & your budget.

Thanks for the reply. Yeh I didn't really think of all that information haha but I'm looking to do an engine swap to get roughly 400bhp and torque to start off with. I may track it now and then, maybe a couple of times a year to test the engine :)but mainly just driving to and from work, not really aggressive driving but putting my foot down wheb I feel like it lol guess most people are the same :D

  4. Hi lads, does anyone know the max bhp and torque you should have before upgrading the brakes? Either better quality discs and pads or a big brake kit? Im not sure what discs and pads i have but lets assume they are pagid. Is there much difference in them and say DBA?

    Thanks

    Lewis

  5. IIRC an LS literally runs off of 3 wires, so harnesses arent really an issue apart from getting gauges working properly etc, although most will just buy a STACK dash or similar which would be supplied with a harness anyway.

The problem is making it fit in the chassis, there can be serious fab work involved there with crossmembers, engine mounts, gearbox mounts, propshaft - even getting the gearstick in the right place isnt easy. Although these guys will be familiar with TVR's I imagine they would have to start from scratch with a Z33 so it aint going to be cheap.

If youre serious about it then Sikky do a premade kit thats pretty reasonable, and I know Bizz was going to reproduce his too, factor in cost of engine and gearbox and the work to fit it and I reckon you could get it done for £8K best case, £10K worst case. For comparison, I reckon a 500hp TT 350Z with a forged engine would set you back around £12K ........... Im definitely tempted, I have to say ;)

Thanks for the info mate. Well yes sikky kit was one I was thinking of buying and I heard about bizz making a kit but didn't know when. Also I am in the fabrication and welding game myself so could save money there. I want to try keep as much OEM as possible. Also I have thought about turbo but the engine isn't built for that kind of power even if you forge it I still feel it cab pop anytime but with the ls2 you know youre safe if you stay NA

makes no sense. Any engine can go bang... I'm walking proof. Everyone said 350 engine are bullet proof. At least 10 on this forum have died this year. NA or FI can both go pop. Ash' 500hp forged twin turbo will probably have less chance of going bang than your V8...

Don't mean to sound harsh, but you need to look at this from all angles

hmm yeh i understand that but a FI 350z has a much bigger chance than a ls2 going bang? Im not saying ls2 wont go bang because like you said any engine can but if your forcing the engine to do more common sense says it lasts less haha so logical idea is get the v8 over a turbo or supercharger? Plus the v8 roar? ;)

  6. Mmmmmm .......... the only thing Id add is Ive heard of a lot of oil problems when using them for track stuff, that might well be something to keep in mind. Im playing with the idea of doing mine but something keeps stopping me, might be that when the weather gets better Ill change my mind again :teeth:

To be honest I don't think id track it or if I did maybe once or twice. I'm not a fan of abusing my cars lol

  7. Haha good advice. Well it's got a full Nissan service history so I'm sure non members will get very excited by that lol I've never had a problem in 2 years anyway so I can sell with confidence! Unless someone wants to pay over the odds to fund my build? Haha

  9. Haha everyone has a budget :p it just from what I've read this company are specialist in L's conversions to a few cars. And surely with a knowledgeable fitters with decent ecu harnesses and that, there shouldnt be many problems as is a NA. I understand things can go wrong with the ls2 but that's just like any engine. It's got to be a much safer route than turboing a NA 350z which wasn't built for FI?

  10. Im sure there was someone on here who had an LS3 shipped over from the states and was building a drifting 350 he was going to put it in.?

    EDIT:

    http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/72723-bizzs-ls3-62l-v8-350z-drift-car-project-it-can-drift/

I knew I hadnt dreamt it!

That's exactly what made me decide it may be a better route especially when people have had 10-12k quotes. I was just wondering what sort of software and roots of quality parts are involved :)

  11. Okay well I have seen a place called topcat racing do tvr ls2 converions for 10k. I understand different car and that but the engine and ecu and harness problems must be the same? I understand there may be more fabrication involved in 350z but so I've read is 1k-2.5k for ecu so where does the 5k come from? I'm a noon with this sorry of stuff and only picking it up from reading diy threads lol

  12. Hi lads sorry to ressurect a thread but I'm looking to do a ls2 at the moment. I see a few people have said 10-12k for a conversion. Does this mean including labor to install? Also what ecu was in that budget and what the budget including custom harnesses? Was it including custom engine mounts or sikky kit? I have PM'd wasso but looking to get as much info from everyone to get an idea of the cost. Also don't want to hassle wasso with a million questions lol.

    Thanks in advance :D

  13. Hi lads I'm looking to sell my engine and gearbox. Both have 75k miles on them with a full Nissan service history. Just wondering if any of you would know the sorr of price they go for? I see on eBay engines go for 1.5-1.7k but don't know if they get sold often or if they have full NSH. I see gearbox goes for maybe 1.5k but again, same as above. :)

    Thanks in advance :p

  14. Hi lads I'm looking to get these fitted on the rear to sort out the toe, just wondering if anyone has had them fitted just to find out a rough price. I know you have to slot a hole for them but I don't have any of the equipment or tools needed. could anyone help and advise of a decent place round by Heathrow?

    Thanks :)

  15. thanks for replies. Yeh i suppose i could split myself but i heard its a bitch to bolt back together with sealent! They only seem to charge £40 odd to split and build. Well they are pretty good condition just a slight pitting all over. Im just looking to get lip to a polished finish with a white pearl over blue finish to the centres or maybe a candy colour :) Im guessing £650 is the going rate for 3 piece?
