  3. Hi All, as the title says I'm after a stock intake system which would include oem airbox,filter & pipe set. If you have a kn filter instead I would be also interested. Cash waiting for the right set so let me know. cheers Lee.
  4. I totally agree with you but I had to check to see if it was the air filter that was causing the problem so won't be going it again.
  5. I don't know any z owners nearby me I'm afraid. I have been on the phone to a friend of mine today and he also pointed out that when I drove the car without the air filter on I didn't get the popping so it might be worth replacing the air filter too as its not a standard airbox filter.

I've already had it in a garage and they didnt find anything, because I changed a 02 sensor they reset the ecu and took off the engine light, it did do the Job for about a mile then engine light came back on and in the morning when I started her up she was doing the flickering on the revs again and making a popping sound
  8. I've been trying to gain as much info as I can as It does sound like a faulty maf sensor. Have read on numerous forums that when you change your 02 sensor then you may have to change the maf sensor too.
  9. I'm based in barnstaple north devon, I gave taken it to a garage already but a couple of mates have suggested I take it to the Nissan garage as they would probably be able to identify the problem?
  10. after reading on the forums i'm actually wondering if it could be the maf sensor that might need replacing but if anyone else has any thoughts then i'm all ears.
  11. Hi Guys, Put up a post the other day about my 02 sensor and airflow problem but have since resolved my o2 problem. I have an airflow problem where when I start my car the rev counter hovers around 1000 - 1500 then after a while drops back down to 750 but will then flicker up and down and you can here it popping. Also when i hit 3000 revs the car suddenly kicks in and its like a turbo lag so I took the air fliter off as I have an induction kit instead of a standard filer and had a drive and it worked fine when i hit 3000 revs so no sudden jump. However when I parked the car it died on me so i put the air filter back on and the car started fine. I am probably right in saying that I have an airflow problem where there isn't enough air going through so has anyone else had this prbolem or can advise what might be causing it? I am going to take it to a nissan garage but if anyone might be able to offer any adivse I would be really grateful. Also thought I'd mention I have no cats on the car but I'm assuming this would not be effecting the airflow problem? thanks in advance.
  12. Hi guys, I'm looking for some advise as I'm having some issues with my rear O2 sensor bank 1. To cut a long story short I have added a pair of simulators and then had to replace the sensor, about 2/3 days later I then had a problem with the rev counter when I started the engine as it kept flickering between 1000-1500. I got the ecu reset today and I got about half a mile when the engine came back on. I let the car cool down and started up the engine to listen to the engine and I could hear again a faint popping noise from the exhaust with rev counter slightly flickering. I have driven the car and the power is there although when I hit about 3/4000 rpm it suddenly kicks in like a turbo lag. so I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas as I'm going to take it back to garage but this has been an on going issue that I really want to resolve. Before I take it in I was just wondering if anyone has experienced the same problems? Thanks in advance Lee

    Yeah it's a turbo converted. My friend has had it off the road for a while as he has had alot of work done on it so this was the first time we've had both card out together.

  17. ok i'll see how much it will cost me at the garage and then see how much I can get them for myself. I take it both will need replacing rather then doing one and seeing how i get on?

Hi Guys, a couple of weeks ago my engine light came on so took it to the garage and they came back with this: Advisories - Cats removed from exhaust system & appears o/s sensor 2 resistance high. He reset the ecu and said it shouldnt be something to be concerned about and if the engine light comes on again to come back and look at it again. My engine light came back on on Satuday just after a week it was reset so I'm guessing its the same problem. I know the code for the o2 senosr is p0037 and if this is the main reason for the problem can it be easily fixed at home or best to get the work done in a gargae? If this can be done at home does anyone know a good parts website to buy the o/s senosrs from? thansk in advance. Lee.

  21. Hi guys, just wondering if anyone has used the K&N filter before as I'm looking at getting my 350 services and wanted to upgrade the air filter. Was also going to ask if there is a certain oil I should use as I know some can better then others so any advise on this would be great. Lee
  22. Ok thanks, Like I said I may have found the car I'm looking for which comes with insurance so might not need to look for temp cover but if anyone does know of any sites that will ocver can you let me know.
  23. I'm surprised you cannot get temporary cover in that case. Me too as it seems very strange? I am wondering if it is because it's a 350 and maybe not a focus or fiesta etc? Do you do temp cover at all just in case I need to get one day insurance.
