  1. Afternoon all

I have just been for a run in the Z and on my way to the petrol station, the engine light has appeared.

I havent been driving it any different than usual and it still drives spot on, no change there

What could it be? Im thinking its nothing serious because its not effected its drive in any way.

Should i just take it down to Nissan and let then stick it on the diagnostics

    Thanks in advance

  2. Evening all

Ive tried the search bar and i cant find anything to do with the clicking axel

Nissan have quoted 99 to rectify the problem....i am handy with a spanner, i rebuilt my other car from scratch (albeit a rover) so i think i may be able to do this if someone can maybe link me to the right page?

    Regards

  3. Thank you all for the advice, if i get the car up on the ramps...would the bushes be easy to notice if they have had it? I think changing all of the bottom arms, drop links etc could get costly

I am going to have a look for the DIY fix on the axle and washers and i will report back :)

    Thanks

  4. Hi there

I have a few issues with my Z and i hope that somebody can point me in the right direction

1, When setting off or coming to a stop, something under the car 'clicks'. What could this be? Driveshafts? Brakes?

2, There is a distinct knocking on the front nearside of the vehicle, i have had the car inspected up on some ramps by a garage but they cannot seem to find the issue. Maybe someone on here can point me directly to the issue. I thought maybe bottom arm or something similar?

3, The windscreen washers are appauling  Is there an easy fix?

    Thanks in advance people

  5. Morning all

I have been offered a direct port nitrous kit with 6 nozzles, electronic controller that come off of a e36 M3

Anyone clued up on these? Will this fit my z

Is the engine up to taking the nos without any additional improvements? Will it damage anything?

Ive tryed searching the forum but havent come accross anything definative

    Thanks in advance

  6. Welcome :)

Im sure the coupe isnt to everyones taste and might hate me when i say that in a straight line from a rolling 2nd gear start....the coupe leaves the Z quite easy.

Not really too surprising as no doubt the Rover is running good power. Anyone who buys a Z purely for straight line speed is a fool :snack:

I havent had the rover dyno'd since i rebuilt it and upgraded a few things, but yes your right. For a 20 year old car, she shifts.

I bought the z purely because its a nice machine and its very comfortable on a long drive. I spend 2 hours a day commuting, so i thought i'd get something i would like to commute in

Two hour commute!! You must have set aside a large budget for fuel then

I dont think that anybody who buys a Z is too bothered about petrol prices and fuel costs :scare:

  7. Biggest issue you have is the age of the system. Not sure what year the cd changed to DVD rom.

You maybe better off installing a new head unit that has satnav built in. Then I think you loose the voice over from the speaker.

Not a good situation really, or buy a tomtom......... :headhurt:

Would i not just be able to change the disc drive?Or is it a complete different system?

    thanks again

  8. Depends if you wanna spend big money on a disk? Plus the newer ones are DVD rom, your would be a CD type disk.

    How much is 'big money'

Surely an birdview disc from somewhere isnt too expensive?

Stealers is circa £350. If you can get one. May need phoning around tho.

    FML! Thats epic!

    What are my other options?

    Or am i stumped?

  9. Ive owned it for about a month and i got given a 3 month RAC warrenty with it

    The problems are:

    1. Clutch pedal sticks all the way down sometimes, ive seen that it had a new slave cylinder fitted in february by a none dealer garage

    2. The flap that covers the sat nav wont shut

    3. The bose cd player skips lots, the cds are new.

Would i be able to send it back under warrenty for them faults

    Thanks in advance
