  1. Might be in the market for a really cheap 350 (if they exist?).

Dont care about age or finish or mileage as I'm not thinking about it as an everyday car. What I'm imagining is a full wrap with advertising logo and imagery which I could then drive in local fetes, carnivals, and the like. Oh and obviously to the supermarket and at every point possible to get the best advertising

Subtly done and with the emphasis on good tasteful looks I think it could act as a good marketing tool, as well as allowing me the ability to get back in a Zed at the expense of my company of course ;)

So a Japanese import or insurance job isnt out of the question.... Also means I can tinker around with all the bits I didn't bother about with 'Miss Marmite', such as the engine, exhaust etc.

Oh I would still want a gt type spec,

The idea is still in my head, but if I can swing it with the company accountant who knows?????

If it happens, pics will follow

Cheers for the link stuarty, but thats actually more money than I sold my own Z for 3 months ago. Looking budget end to allow for improvements. Plus as much as I'd like to save a fortune with the tax man, I need to be sensible, a wrap will cost a fair bit for what I'm thinking....

  2. I hope you don't sell solar panels or eco friendly products :p

I think my name on here might give it away?

Actually could just forget the wrap and cover it in cement, sand and emulsion, will then look like most builders transit vans!!

Basically this idea is just an excuse to get another Z and for the whole thing to be written off against my tax...... Could look seriously impressive though if carried out tastefully??

  3. How cheap is cheap?....budget?

He is a builder, the estimate will be £2k and the final bill £6k

Don't know about budget, this is just the planning stage......... But if I'm buying the final bill goes down not up Dave!!

Company colours are Grey, Silver and Green, I'm sure a decent wrap design can be constructed along those lines :teeth:

  5. Ages since I last bought a house....... last time I paid £375 :scare:

But you just have to build the fees into your costs i guess? Just seems a decent time to get into developement, prices are pretty low at the moment.

  6. Brilliant, so you're the director & he's the grafter paying for the motors on the drive

    Nice move

I work too, just Director title gets all my insurances reduced,

And he has to graft, he's the bosses son, no special treatment........

  7. Anyone have the review/comparison between the 370z and the Z4. Seem to remember he was fond of the 370z until he drove it in the wet, and hated it. Clarkson isn't a fan of Jap cars in general.

Dont know about him not being a fan of jap cars as I remember warching him in a skyline and loving it this was years ago . Don't even think it was even a TG episode and his hair was even worse than it is now. Also remember how he loved the GTR compared to the Jag as he said buy the one made for the job and not the one given a facelift or something like that.

he also loved the honda S2000..another one of my old cars

Don't think he ever had an opinion on my Allegro 1100 TC

I think TC stands for 'total crap'?

  8. Jezza's comments are meant to wind you up, it's a magazine in tv format. Not a proper magazine, but NUTS magazine!

Lets be honest here, love him or hate him Jezza is brutally brutal in what he says, and it's just his opinion so doesn't really matter. What matters is what we like.

Personally I like Captain Slow, .

  9. £ 998 wanted for him to insure a 350z at 22 years old with 4 years ncd, and £800 total excess,

£778 to insure the 335i with £375 total excess.

Of course when you get to my age its totally different again!

I pay £245 to insure the S5 protected with £150 excess, if it were me insuring the 335i it would be £287????????? How weird is that? The 335i has 306 bhp and the S5 has 350bhp! I guess a Quattro is less safe than a rear wheel drive  .

One thing I will say is the Audi isnt as exciting on bends but its damned fast in a straight line (unfortunately I live in the country, loads of bends)

BTW, my 350Z cost £230 a year to insure.

  10. do you both work in insurance? ;)

What exactly do you do Builder?

He's a cake maker hence the user name Ricey

official title is Company Director, hence cheap insurance (lower risk than a builder), dont exactly know why though????

Does Ricey work in paddy fields Wasso? LOL

  11. Due to the fact that in my son's eyes I'm an old git, he was totally miffed when I purchased the Z as he had always loved the look of them.

A couple of months ago I traded it in for an S5 (something I'm still regretting a tad as I miss 'Miss Marmite'). At this point I thought he might go out and buy a 350 for himself, but he reckoned the insurance was rediculous as he is only 22.

Last weekend we went to pick up his new purchase as in his words "I want a decent motor with some oomph". So we went last Friday to pick up a nicely priced (IMO) 335i. Semi-auto with satnav etc.

Have to say having driven it that it is a lovely beast. Far less refined than my S5 and slower in a straight line, but faster and more fun around bends.

Still miss my Z though, so thinking of one as a promo vehicle LOL.

    Anyway, here's a few pics.

  12. I've read that the. 335 has some major reliability issues, check pistonheads etc. I would be tempted by a 135i, RS4, or an S5 if you're looking at coupe/saloons.

How about a Cayman or Z4 23i if you don't need the seats?

    P1020013_zps8c9fb3c8.jpg

Mine is the S5, my son just bought the 335i this weekend.

Both are good cars, but I do think they lack the excitement of the Z, although being able to converse at 70 is a definite bonus, lol

  13. Bought my self a camera...... Never tried photography before but always liked the idea, so im starting with a Bridge camera.

So anyway, nowhere near as good as most of you guys on here, but here are a couple of pictures of unusual sightings, taken from my bedroom window.Muncjac_zpsf0a79f78.jpg

Firstly I get a snow shot with a very cute Muntjac, and then a few days later I finally get a picture of this little beauty, who normally stays a few metres away from my garden and ive never got such a good shot before......

    Egret_zps03627426.jpg

An Egret, God knows what it's doing in Bedfordshire, but I've had up to 5 at a time in the trees at the bottom of my garden.

Anyway like I said I'm new to this, so hopefully I'll improve?

    Paul.
