  1. with surporting mods exhaust,panel fillter,penteum spacer,hfc or decat about 307 max

Hmmm, i called a dealer who was selling an 04 model and listed it as 300bhp, when i asked him what had been done he said "remap and a stainless steel exhaust"

according to what iv'e read, still for a car nearly 10 years old sounds abit OTT. Can someone tell me if that's realistic??

Ask to see the read out to prove this if its been re-maped, Also for some reson imports some time seem to get 10hp more something to do with diffrent ecu,To be fair you wont notice a big diffrence in power with a re-map it more how the car feels {less retritive in 1st 2nd 3rd standard map} look at the rev-up threads it will tell you or message abbey etc for the facts as they have done alot off 350z and can tell you what is realistic with just map and exhaust also is it just cat back or full system,if no hfc or decats

  2. I have a 2004 Zed on 110k with just an exhaust, plenum spacer & uprev on 300bhp

WOW!! thats incredible! i remember testing driving one with 93k and it was barely faster than an old school vtec.

So those three things are definitely on my TO-DO list.

  4. The last few weeks at work have been gruesome, endless, endless meetings and workshops, followed by more reviews and discussions. Omnishambles. I hate this sort of thing, I like actually doing things. Coincendentally, work has got particularly tiresome since I bought my first Zed. BUT, now when I'm in a meeting and want to tear out my own eyeballs and stuff them in my ears to block it all out, I just think about the drive home. Starting her up, hearing the growl, being pinned back in the seat and breezing past Fred & Mable in their Yaris, maybe blasting out some tunes on the way. The Zed has literally stopped me quitting my job, or beating someone about the face with a sticky USB keyboard and getting fired/sent down.

Just wanted to say it out loud. I love my Zed. It's great fun, twice every single day, and it's saved me from being unemployed and potless. Best purchase ever, and it's got me on here too, which is also great.

    Rant over, thanks for listening.

I still feel like this after 3.5 years :yahoo:

Surely it cant be that good! i cant wait!! lol

  5. Thats for the comments everyone.

Iv'e found a few that have been snapped up before i could get there. Last weekend I found one that had 1 owner from new and only 42k miles. But again someone got there before me. I'll keep waiting......

  6. So I took a test drive as I was advised by a member here on another tread.

Went to a dealer not too far away.

Well I don't know how any sane individual expects you to pay the FULL asking price of £6000 (which is still a lot of money for anybody) after only driving for about a quarter of a mile, barely getting out 3rd gear, with the ABS kicking when braking GENTLY at about 10mph and having 8, yes 8 previous owners!!! :scare:

I hate rude, cocky salesmen!

Needless to say i walked away.

  7. The older car had more torque, the newer one more power but the difference isnt that noticeable. Service history in my experience rarely has much effect on power.

    ok thanks for that info.

TBH if you want to be fast you are better off making sure you've got decent tyres and a decent driver than worrying about 10hp.

I see what you mean, im no stranger to fast cars its just the one drove felt very underpowered.

Perhaps the one you test drove was not well maintained

Thats what I thought but I wasn't sure.

Where abouts are you maybe a couple off members could meet you and get a better idea before wasting time traveling to see others or get your mate to a meet and you will have more than one car to compare

ok KC, ill send you a pm.

  8. Hi Whackywill,

Thanks for the reply. But isnt the difference in an 03 and 06 20bhp anyway?! my mates was not modded, not in the least. And i know he doesn't even use Tesco's super unleaded.

It would drive me nuts if i bought a Z and then realised it wasn't just quick enough compared to others.

  9. Hi all,

Just after a bit of advice, Iv'e been after a Z now for nearly TWO years! and keep holding back. It's got to a stage now where i'm thinking i'll be driving the family TDI all my life!!

This whole Z craze started when my mate bought one a few years ago. He has an 06 GT model and its only done 45k.

Now I have driven it a few times and it really is something special and i would say not one but two steps up from my civic which was very quick. (iv'e already read the Z and EP3 thread)

Now recently i went to test drive one not too far away it was and 03 with 93k on the clock and i have to say i was disappointed! The difference in power from my friends was toooo much! It just wasn't in the same league.

I dont have the cash to splash out and buy an 05 with 50k, so im going to have to stick to something a bit older.

My question is, is it the case then that all 2003-2004 350z with about 100k on the clock start to lose power or was that maybe just a one-off??

I have seen one, its a bit far away but it has full NISSAN service history, could that mean the car has been looked after (it has done 100k)and wont be THAT much slower than my friends 06??

    Thanks in advanced.

  10. To be honest, I rang two independent garages and they were both more expensive. I would agree that a good independent stamp is A1, but it's unlikely that a Nissan stamp will do any harm come sale time. The added bonus with the Nissan garage was a free mot when needed and full European rac membership for 1 year for free. Hard to beat, and the rac cover is peace of mind for my trip to le mans in June ;)

oil change, MOT and RAC euro cover for 139.99!? cant go wrong, I'd do the oil change myself, but if your're getting the extras, then why not!

  11. welcome to the forum. The older 2003 early 2004 models are a much firmer ride than the newer models, from 2005 up noticeable difference. Depends what you're after.

Well my mates is a 06, me personally, I would like a stiff car since i'd be using it for track days too and its not as if your gonna have the wife and kids in there.

If its a NOTICEABLE difference as you say then i'll have to test drive those too. But then ive read also about how the later engines were upto 80% newer, not sure if that means BETTER, but a lot think about i suppose.

    thanks for the info

  12. Thanks for the welcome guys!

Hi and welcome to the club.

Do you drive? If so what do you drive at the moment?

Well I drive a 320d (yes a different league all together) but a mate of mine has had a 350z since 2008, infact I helped him look for one, took us 6 months but it was worth it in the end. I've only driven it a few times and it definitely gives you a solid, firm kind of feel.

Another time I drove it was on the motoway.......and i was shocked at how much power it had in 6th ;):D

Anyway, im hoping I have something lined up for the summer.....

  13. Hi everyone!

Newbie here, hoping to learn loads on this forum and eventually buy a 350 when i've saved up enough! lol

I've really become fond of this car in the past few weeks. I've been thinking of the best N/A car out there and i cant really think of any other apart from the 350.

    :)
