Am i the only one who thinks this looks OTT? Sure i made something similar to this on Need for Speed!

The guy who bought the car off my brought a mechanic with him who was impressed with the car I must admit, there was still a part of me that thought shall i sell or keep it? Car looked great (prob because it has seen paint!) The guy who i took it to for the fuel tank reckoned the car had been drifted as there was a faint outline of decals on the skirts and the rear diff had a lot of movement under load. He reckoned it was probably resprayed to sell (on closer inspection not that well in parts.) I bought the car privately and thats the risk you take i suppose! I didn't tell the guy about the fuel tank or cutting out because i wanted to sell it and i lost 600 quid on it in 2 months! I may well buy another zed, but i will go over it with a fine tooth comb or i might buy a mk2 focus rs or S3.

I have sold my 350z tonight with mixed emotions to be honest. i only bought the car on 1st Feb, however i have had nothing but trouble with it! I have had a few rants on here about the problems i have had with needing to change the fuel tank, fuel leaking after the tank was changed and condensation in the headlights. Since then the car has continued to leak fuel when filling up (sorted today)and i was greeted by an over heating car, spitting coolant all over the driveway when i left it on my driveway when i left the engine running to burn off the condensation. 3 days later driving home from work and the airbag light began to flash! Managed to get it to go off after about an hour. The final straw for me was on Monday morning on the way to work. Went to start the car on the drive, didn't start first time. Tried again and started straight up. Got to the junction at the bottom of the road and the car cut out. Started it up again and it cut out at the next junction. Turned the car around and headed home. Opened the bonnet, checked oil and other fluids, all fine, however the car cut out again on tick over. Got back into the car ready to call Mr AA man and the car sat on idle perfectly, like nothing had ever happened! Car had been fine after the cutting out on Monday, until i started it up today to find the airbag light flashing again! Car went to garage to get the fuel leak sorted and luckily the airbag light was gone. Someone came to view it tonight and loved it, so it has gone! Not sure what to do now? Get another or go newer?

He seems like a real nice guy, hardly charged me anything! To be fair, I think he sick of the site of me now!

When it first happened I took it back to him and he put some fuel in and it was fine,but obviously it didn't create the same pressure as a station pump. Spoke to him today and he was baffled. He said he would come to station with me and have a good look when I'm filling up!

I only put 40 quid in so haven't filled the car right up. Its literally just when i fuel the car. As soon as i drive off there is no fuel leak?

About 6 weeks ago i posted that the baffle had gone in my fuel tank and therefore a new fuel tank was needed. So fuel tank was fitted and off i went. Went to fill the car up and there was a fuel leak from the bottom of the car when i was filling up but stopped when i left the petrol station. I took the car back to the guy who fitted the fuel tank and he couldn't see anything wrong, but changed all the pipes over that he had from a 350 he was breaking. So problem solved.........Well no! Went to the petrol station again today, filled up and again there was a leak. So my question is, what could it be? Is there different fuel tanks dependent on the year or model? Starting to do my head in!

Car is booked in with a local body shop to have headlights opened, cleaned and resealed as a bit of condensation is showing. Whilst there open i wanted to change the orange reflective strips to clear ones. Does anyone know where i can get some from? Also, is it a straight forward job opening the lights up?

Right, I have decided to sort a few niggly problems out n the zed instead of moaning about them One of my headlights has some condensation, which drys during the day but is back in the morning! I want to get some silver reflective strips instead of the orange ones and change the indicator bulbs then reseal the units. Also, the plastic splitter under the front lip has seen better days, so would like to replace this. So, where can i get; Silver reflective headlight strips Silver indicator bulbs Front splitter maybe led rear lights? Thank you

My friend is in the process of selling his type r and we were discussing where is best to put it between ebay or pistonheads (ruled out autotrader as its too expensive!) So.......The question is; Where would you advertise your car if it was for sale?

The cost of fuel doesn't bother me, its the fact that its pissing all over the floor when im filling up!!! My question with regards to the trip computer was to find out if its matching up correctly now it has a different tank on it. I'm not enjoying the car as the story so far goes; Pick up Saturday, car making noise after i fill it up Garage Monday cant find the noise Garage Wednesday decides the fuel tank needs to come out with my 50 quid of fuel in it Friday garage call to say new tank is needed Saturday fuel tank sourced Wednesday fuel tank arrives Friday pick car up Sunday fill up car and **** fuel over forecourt! Right, You may remember i have put a post on here about my car making a rattle then finding out it was the baffle in the fuel tank that was loose = new fuel tank. Had a new tank fitted and the noise has gone! Yippee! So....Just put some fuel in the car and heard a trickling noise, looked under the car (offside door to see a puddle of fuel. Slightly distressed and embarrassed i ran into the station to pay, jumped back in the car and drove off to an empty car park to investigate. I pulled over jumped out to find no fuel leaking out. Why would this happen? i put 40 quid in and the rip computer says 150 miles. This round about right? Am i ever going to get to enjoy my car!?!

Good evening, Right, it turns out that the annoying squeeling metal noise was a broken baffle in the petrol tank, thus a new petrol tank is needed. Ive seen one on ebay for 100 quid. Anyone able to source one for cheaper? The guy i had the car off had RAC warranty, do you think they would cover this or is it wear and tear? Cheers Ryan

When we put the handbreak on and rocked the car on the clutch In 1st you could here it. Almost like it was moving and the squeal was from a lack on lubrication. I'm finding it hard to describe to be honest! Just peed off it started doing it on the way home and not when I test drive it!

Afternoon, I picked up my zed on Saturday and noticed a noise from the back end when accelerating and breaking. It seems to make the noise also when i move the car from side to side. It sounds like something is squeaking as it moves backwards and forwards, almost like something is loose. When i text the previous owner he said it needs 10mm off the center pipe. So i took it to the garage today and he had a look around the exhaust, tighted things up, took the hanger off the back support and the noise is still there! The mechanic reckons it might be a dodgy spring in the rear brake drum but i dont see how it can be? Anyone got any suggestions?

So i picked up my 350z today looking forward to a good drive in it today then.........SNOW!!!!! Looks like im going to have to wait! Im really happy with it, however it has a none standard exhaust on it, which is currently making a bit of racket when accelerating and breaking. I rang the guy and he said that its the middle hang bar on the centre pipe which needs 10mm tsking off it. Sound about right?

I personally like the Red ones. Hmm, tricky. He needs to clear the finance and show you the documentation before you hand over any money. You should speak to the seller and see what he proposes first though. Pete What the guy suggested is that i give him the money and then he will pay it off.....hmmmmmmmmmmmm no! I thought maybe if we both pay the finance company together at the same time or he puts the extra money in my account and i pay it all off. There is no way i am handing over 8k on trust alone! Im in Leeds and believe there is a remap company nearby? How much does it cost? Cheers
