What about t'other side?

Haven't got to that yet! This was my tester, will hopefully get to it next weekend as I am happy with the final result.

That looks really good, you just have to do the rest of the door card.

Yeah, the paint has a nice textured finish that works very well just have to see how hard wearing it is!

The other marks aren't that bad on the door card and don't worry me as much as you can't see the white undercoat but might get round to them at some point!

I have read a lot of guides on here that have been very useful so thought I would do a quick one of my own.

The scratches on the inner door panel near the mirror switches has always annoyed me and it seems to be a common problem due to the strange ‘rubberised finish that Nissan used that is very easy to scratch.

Below is the process I used for repainting the handle, please feel free to comment and add any suggestions.

Parts required

Wet/dry paper

Plastic spray paint & primer (I used Plasti-kote, see below)

Process

1. First remove the arm rest by lifting it up by hand starting on the end nearest the edge of the door. Might need a bit of a pull but will pop off.

2. Now prise out the screw cover using a flathead screwdriver

3. Unscrew and the panel and lift and unplug the two mirror & window control units.

4. Unclip the control units from the plastic trim.

5. Prep the trim by washing/degreasing and rub over with a bit of wet/dry paper

6. Spay a couple of coats of primer to prepare the surface and improve the adhesion

7. Spray several fine coats of matt black paint and leave to dry

8. Remount the control units into the trim

9. Plug in control units and reattach to door card

I found the finish to be slightly textured compared to the original bit still OEM looking and blends in well. Hope this guide helps someone else with the same problem!

Finally got one! Already been in touch with zmanalex to source a couple of bits!

Haven't really been able to drive it yet though due to weather conditions...

Seems less and less people sell privately now and prefer to trade in/WBAC!

It makes me sick how cheap zeds are going for now. Attracting the totally wrong crowd. Hopefully you're not one of them.

 

No matter what 2006 car you buy both will be in high tax band. There's only been 1 2006revup car registered on a 55 plate if I remember right (except gt4) which still have the old interior.

 

Have you researched the differences etc? 2002-2005 Pre rev up, 2006-2007 revup, 2007-2009 HR

Nope, look after all my cars/bikes and a big petrol head in general.

Not specifically after a 2006 car, after pre-facelift as it suits by budget better.

Yes, I am pretty sure I know all the different specs/models now - I'm after a 2002-2005 GT, 276 bhp with lower tax bracket of £260 p/a.

Could probably knock £500+ off this one When you are looking remember to take 10% off the list price as your offer as a general rule is what I have been told. They are not very desirable cars due to economy so use this to your advantage. If you want to take a risk go in with a price of say £7500 and say you will collect it tomorrow if he agrees or you will buy another one if he doesn't.

Yes, that 350Z was perfect for me but when I rang over Christmas it was sold.

That was the perfect spec for me and now just waiting for another to pop up...

Read all the buying guides on the forums and it was full of useful information!

Been through all the "For Sale" section but nothing is what I'm after/in budget, would prefer to buy from an owner on here as I am sure it would have been looked after much better.

Prefer a pre-facelift model due to additional tax costs of 2006+ models but would consider either.
