  1. Wish the Zed weighed about 100-200 kg less than standard, would have made a huge difference.

Aside from the hefty V6, what puts the lard on the Z?

Seems the nature of modern cars, the only thing that breaks the mould is the new ish gt86, even mx5's are bulking up in the weight department compared to what they used to be!

Big fat comfy electric seats, airbags, big brakes & wheels, solid build added to the overall size all contributes :)

Just try lifting your bootlid if your gas shocks go ;)

Think I'll stop going to the gym if the shocks go, and just pump iron on the Zed lol

  3. I was thinking of getting rid of my 350z as was disappointed with the performance of the car. I took it to Paul at TDI North and had this done to my car. Safe to say big grin on my face and will now be keeping the car. It transforms the car to how the car should have come out of the factory. Would have no quibbles recommending this modification to any owner.

I can't wait to see what difference it makes. I have a plenum spacer, typhoon CA induction, sports cats and Miltek exhaust so am hoping for some decent gains/improvement.

    Do you have any mods?

Had to find the car in the for sale section to get the list of modifications. When I took it to TDI North i was low on petrol so had to but 97 ron in to get me off the motorway. I am going before Christmas to have the plenum spacer fitted and it remapped with proper fuel in it. I think from memory the mods below gave about 312bhp, but I would check with Paul at TDI North as was not really paying attention, as I trust him to map it correctly.

    Exterior

Nismo V2 replica front bumper with Cannards (Dec 2011).

Gio Cuzzo replica rear spoiler (Dec 2011).

Black Door handles and Z badges.

18' Rays Engineering alloys in Black.

    Stumpy S2000 Aerial.

    2007 model LED rear lights.

    Carbon Fibre B Pillars.

    Interior

Usual GT pack equipment, Heated leather seats, Cruise control, Built in sat nav etc.

Custom door builds with uprated front FLI intergrator 6 speakers.

Sony Double-Din Touchscreen DVD head unit (May 2012).

Leather gear gaiter with blue stitching (Dec 2011).

New boot mat with blue stitching (Dec 2011).

Rear Boot Strut sprayed to match bodywork (Dec 2011).

    Mechanical

BC racing fully adjustable suspension (Lowered 10mm).

    Scorpion Cat back exhaust.

    Japspeed race manifolds.

    20mm rear spacers.

Varta blue Top battery (Dec 2011).l

Most DE struggle to get around the 300 mark, let alone surpass it. Have you got hp numbers for fly and wheels?

How do the gains manifest themselves in the real world?

  4. Seen a few zeds on the road and always Flash. Never hads response though.

Gave someone a thumbs up in a GT3 recently, I still remember the look of horror/disgust as he drove past.

  5. Hi all

Planning on gettinga new HU at the weekend, I know ideally that the unit should have 3 pre outs. Front, rear and sub. Can anyone recommend a decent unit at £150 with 3 pre outs.

Was thinking of the below pioneer but it only has 2 pre outs

Also, can anyone recommend audio shops to help with the install around middlesex. Was thinking of car security audio in Hayes or John Kleiss in Reading.

  6. Ekona will say, stretch for mpss it's only a tank of fuel difference which I do agree with but not always possible.

But it is, if you're running a 350Z. If you can afford the fuel + VED + insurance +servicing, then making sure it's on decent boots is the least of your problems! ;)

But anyway, without going down that route I would say that the Avons are the best choice there by some margin. I wouldn't even consider the other two. I would chuck in the Falken FK453 to the mix though. :)

Also, Ekonda is an awesome name, I may change mine to that!

Cheers mate, must have been thinking about you and street fighter at the same time lol.

I would go for mpss but I'm saving for a house and need to make some compromises.

  7. Hi gents

I want to change my tyres as there were ditch finders on my Z when purchased. I'm considering the above tyres, would love to hear some feedback on those that have used them and of course I'll be seeking approval from our resident expert Ekonda.

Unfortunately I can't stretch to super sports but want a good midrange tyre, with decent wet/dry grip and decent wear levels.

    Alterative suggestions welcome.
