  1. got hot air when engine under load but now all ok new thermostat and bled the system,,fans all working now done what you said and stripped the fans and brushes were stuck in holders so gently slid them out cleaned with a fine bit of sand paper was a bit of a fiddle getting all 4 brushes to stay in holder but if you put a piece of wire through the holder to keep in place put the motor back on then remove the wires it makes it easier otherwise you will need the patience of a saint ,thanks everyone for all your advice
  2. I changed the thermostat 1st as so i am told they sometimes stick open or closed and if it was stuck it would not let the correct flow of water and send signal to the fans to work when hot ? or is that not the case ?
  3. replaced thermostat today but still no fans so will try and remove the rear caseings of the motors to clean brushes if not new motors it is
  4. thanks zmanalex i know where to come just really cant afford £400 at the moment but may have to if i cant find a cheaper alternative cheers
  5. set of cooling fans wanted for 2005 fairlady z must be in fully working order would prefer genuine nissan but will consider aftermarket as long as they have same wiring and plugs dont want to rewire the loom.thanks lisa
  6. removed my motors today from the shroud and they look like a sealed unit not sure whether or not they differ from model to model but no way of getting to the brushes inside ???????? still waiting on thermostat from nissans so hopefully know tom
  7. excellent thanks andlid they look like the exact ones with same plugs to so no wire work required unlike the mishimotos i have seen at £200 and at a very good price thanks a lot
  8. Thanks obviously checked fuses 1st but a fuse wouldn't affect the cold to hot flow on heating as thermostat would affect both heating and fan control so I am told by the mechanic hopefully get a definate answer tomorrow
  9. no engine light on no codes present, dont really like the look of them cheap fans for £60 and as i said before with the mishimotos you have to do some rewire work which i wasnt to keen on ,i am hopeing its gonna be the thermostat cheapest fix cheers for all info
  10. hi ken, thanks andlid for the pointers will get the garage to double check for air i have found mishimotos that fit for £210 but you need to have wiring modified and dont really want that done as car is factory standard but the american ones i am told plug straight in gonna get a new thermostat fitted 1st plus double check for air lock but cant see why a air lock would stop the fans from kicking in???????
  11. hi vik54 thanks going to try the thermostat 1st i think as the fans are £200 each although have found in usa for $200 delivered been told they good and no cutting of loom etc just plug straight
  12. hi my 350 has sat a few weeks and i now have a cooling issue only cold air when ticking over but warm when driving and will overheat if left stationery long enough as fans have stopped working any ideas advice would be most grateful hopeing its not the fans as that is expensive thanks lisa
