  1. Mine broke today at the flange. Weld repair to be attempted tomorrow but I may need to source a replacement. Does anyone have one available in fair condition or better? I am based in Dorset.
  2. Some great posts and links, all I need to know. I told the missus that it would be an awesome trip and she replied "who for?". Needless to say she received an on the spot promotion from toll payer to second driver. Just need to convince her to actually drive the Z... (I think she's worried she'll enjoy it too much and start to hate her 206 oil burner)
  3. Cheers for this - i'll have to read through properly tomorrow - the missus is back from work and frowning! I only get a little over 300 miles per tank, is that normal for a daily commute (average speed over a tank of fuel is only 25mph!!). At this sort of mpg its gonna be way expensive!!
  4. Hadn't even got as far as looking at the fuel cost - assumed it would be no more expensive than the UK. Would be interested to know people's real mpg for such long trip (obviously factoring in some fun!!). I would offer a prize for the lowest mpg but making others laugh should be prize enough
  5. Would like to take the new Z to europe for a jolly with the missus - no definite plans yet and have only dropped the idea casually into conversation... Z is a pre-facelift 06 with 37k. Completely standard ( ) GT with Rays but NO satnav. Had P2 service about a 1000 miles/1 month ago (Should have been a P1? Dealer I bought from paid for it so presume I'm quids in there). I guess I need to check pads and discs are good for the intended mileage. Where have people been and what are the actual mileages of these trips (somewhat higher than the planned mileage I'm guessing). Any tips/advice you can offer or from your own experience would be much appreciated. (Including tips on convincing the missus please )
  6. @Cookbot - That's some good work. Are these still available? If so is there a waiting list/how much etc? If you are no longer making these then I'm handy with a soldering iron and a maplin catalogue if the circuit diagram is available
  7. A couple of people have mentioned a fix. Is this fix the rotate and regrease option or is there something else? (Other than ignoring it, which I can't ever since the missus pointed it out!)
  8. Cheers for all the replies. Fairly sure that its the CV joint - been doing a lot reading on this and other forums (don't be mad - I chose this one ). It is a very metallic ping - not unlike a good connection with a metal golf driver for those who like to follow the instructions on their boot lid. Hoping to get the work done under a third party warranty provided by the (not nissan) dealer from where I bought the car, but need to source parts cheap as possible as they are grumbling about the cost of the parts from Nissan. The mechanic I use is very experienced (though not necessarily with the Z, more usually Mercs) and so diagnosis should be spot on. Shown him the TSB and and the noise and he concurred that CV was at fault. I need to PM but I'm told I'll need to make 5 posts first... Hope this isn't breaking any rules...
  9. Had early '06 350z (pre face lift) for 5 or so weeks and have the dreaded rear axle click when pulling away/letting off the go pedal etc. I understand that ZMANALEX is the man who can supply the parts but am new to any sort of forum so have no idea how to PM (only just worked out what it means!) Any help greatly appreciated.
