  1. OK, i'm still trying to figure out whether to repair or sell at the moment, but let's leave this thread alone and head over to viewtopic.php?f=9&t=62291&p=894780#p894780 to carry on
  2. Thanks for the support guys. It's being a bit of a tough week. I've taken a bunch of photos now, do i just attach them using the bit in the post reply?
  3. Yeah, Royston Herts. Who are Abbey then? Do they have a website? Where are they?
  4. You need to see my most recent couple of topics. I'm on my phone with limited signal, so I can't find the link at the moment
  5. So do I upload the whole video first, then it will let me cut it? I only ask cos its 2gb and will take me ages to upload on my crappy connection, I couldn't see the option to edit the video
  6. Yeah Daryl, deffo something not right, I broke into the corner as I had been taking it easy all day, I don't think I was off line. I suspect I had cooked the rears, which isn't really anyone else's fault but mine anyway It's in a garage local to me, which is near a place called Royston
  7. I'm looking at the numbers and getting a bit upset now. I'm starting to think she's not worth repairing. it'll cost me at least £4k to go the track car route. What have i done. That was a pricey 5 seconds
  8. oh dear. less than a year. sad days. maybe it will all work out. sniff
  9. so, if anyone knows of some software that can cut about with an MP4 i'll post the crash on youtube and you guys can try and figure it out. trouble is, this session i had the camera on my windscreen , so you can't see my steering input. it looks like i just carry on round the corner as the track straightens and drive straight into the barrier
  10. completely not insured unfortunately yeah, way to go with the keeping it subtle, ending up in the pit lane on a track day with 100 petrol heads there, the camera phones were out before i was even out of the car if i can upgrade (carbon? really?) for the same money i would feel much better about repairing i wouldn't ever be able to sell it to a private buyer without being completely honest about it's past, so that's gonna drop the value how much is it worth as it is? i would be heartbroken, but the best thing for me financially would be to get a decent price as is
  11. yeah, actually condensing the threads would be good. i didn't realise i'd get such quick responses. i think there may have been something up, like i'd melted the tyres or something, i'd been absolutely fine through that corner all day but that time seemed to have way less rear grip and couldn't save it i've watched the video back a bunch of times now and i actually drifted (only slightly) through the previous 3 corners it was the first session after lunch on a mega hot day the side curtain and seat airbags went off on my side, but not any of the front ones. i don't think anything underneath is bent and so far i don't think the engine has lost any fluid. i might head over to the garage tomorrow and have a look if the crash cans are bent. what should i be looking out for in terms of "if that bit's broken you might as well scrap it" type damage?
  12. my garage are telling me one of the most expensive bits to replace is the lights. does this ring true?
  13. jables, they allowed me to film with my GoPro sucker mounted, just make sure you clear it with the marshal letting people onto the track
  14. for those trying to guess how i did it, the rear came round out of the last corner and just kept coming. i was steering into it but it just didn't stop. as soon as my front tyres hit the grass i knew i was done for (i actually videoed it, you can hear me swear at this point) the gravel trap hardly slowed me down at all and i hit the armco square on. forwards momentum carried me the further 90 degrees and i ended up facing the queue waiting to go out on track. glad i didn't hurt any one, but generally gutted. i was only ever going to do Bedford as it's so difficult to seriously damage your car. apparently no-ones ever hit that barrier before, let alone gone through it. complete freak accident.
  15. just ball park figures if anyone knows them. places to look would be even better I need wings, bumper, bonnet, radiator, lights.. anything else in that area really.
  16. Absolutley gutted I crashed at Bedford Autodrome yesterday (on my birthday) and have seriously damaged the Z the garage it is at have said that it's about £4k worth of damage (from what they've seen so far) it's an '04 plate that was mint with 62k miles on the clock. not really sure what to do.
  17. I upgraded to a Pioneer recently and now my original non Bose head unit is sitting on my dining table. It had the issue with the left speakers cutting out. Is it worth anything to anyone? It seems a shame to take it up the dump.
  18. I think I'm going to live with the gap, I've had a decent look in daylight now and it doesn't look too bad
  19. OK, so I've read this: viewtopic.php?f=27&t=16403 but the place I bought my head unit (Pioneer AVH-1400DVD) from told me I didn't need a fascia. I noticed the unit came with something that looks like a fascia, but i'm not exactly sure how it fits. Is the darker black plastic surround from the original HU removable? It looks a bit like it might be glued to the lighter coloured textured plastic of the dash. It seems what came with my HU has the same outside dimensions, so it should fit...
  20. Well, I'm running standard Rays, so 45 profile. I've never heard of the sessantas. I wont be cutting corners money wise on my car, but I could really do with not spending a fortune right now
  21. Thanks Wesmin, that's the one Are those Falkens really good? They look like they might be a bargain
