Reduced again to £65 delivered, then eBay beckons.

So how did this go, nearly a year after? Looking to have my cluster replaced as well Have the dealer sort this out for you?
They didn't sort it, apparently it was impossible. I have since sold the car.
-
My convertible Z did this several times - when I looked at the bar directly above my head it was noticeably bent out of shape and when poked around a bit it would work.
-
Reduced to £70 delivered.

I have for sale a set of genuine Autosock snow socks for all four 350Z stock 18" wheels (2x size 685 and 2x size 695). They are new and unopened, I sold my 350 before having to use them. Looking for £90 delivered for both sets.
-
Added Autosocks, reduced other prices.
-
I have sold my 350Z so have the following for sale - delivery included where possible, collection preferred from Southampton area:
OEM rear mudflaps in Universal Silver, brand new with all fittings and instructions, £35 delivered
Brodit Proclip for facelift model, £7 delivered (clip only, iPhone holder in pic not included)
-
I struggled with this bit - there is a thin strip of plastic between the screen and the buttons which must be removed first to reveal two screws, you can then take these out and the buttons pop out.

The z4m is miles better than the standard z4 - the electric steering in the non M models is the worst I have encounted, the 3.0si doesn't feel fast despite the figures, the ride quality is horrendous and the interior is tiny and noisy. And I hate the way it looks but that last one is a matter of taste. Also being a bmw everything is an option so shop around for one that has everything you want already fitted.
-
Thanks for all the help guys, I'll give them a call later and let you know how I get on (I suspect it will just be a change of mileage stamp in the service book).
-
Nissan have just replaced the instrument cluster in my 2008 Z to cure a very bouncy rev counter (to my surprise this has worked). As a result the odometer now reads 0 when the car has done 35000 miles - I have a record of the mileage before the change on the work document but this is a bit annoying in terms of knowing when services are due etc. Is it possible to reset the odometer back to what it should be?

You could get a very nice Subaru Impreza saloon for that kind of money which would be miles better than the Focus or 3MPS IMO.
-
Ha funny you should mention Integra - I do like them also especially that later model but FWD ?? FWD how camp is that (he says driving a Chocolate coloured Cube)
Lol, it's ok Stan, the Teg is one FWD car we're allowed to like - EVO says so!
While we are on about imports and RWD, how about:
S15?
I'd be more interested in that yellow beauty behind it...

Having been keeping an eye on the prices and having my interest piqued by the test drive last week, a 4 year old Z4M Roadster with 44k on the clock is now less than 15K from a BMW dealer, which is a bit of a steal I think.
-
I had a test drive in a Z4M Roadster at the weekend and was impressed - felt a lot faster and more responsive in gear than the Zed and the ride quality was pretty good too - it was miles better than the M Sport 3.0si I tested a few years back due to having proper steering and no run flat tyres. However the cabin was cramped, I can't get on with the looks (the Z4 and especially the coupe look somewhat phallic I think) and the BMW dealer wanted a stupid amount of money to change, so it will not be mine.

German = Massive repair bills if they go wrong
French of that age = will probably break
I would look at Japanese saloons from around 1999/2000 - my old Mazda 626 2.0 petrol from 1998 has never had anything break in 10 years of my/my dad's ownership apart from a manifold gasket (£100 fix) and does 40mpg, and you can pick one up for about £600. Parts are peanuts as is insurance.
-
Probably the air con getting rid of the water it removes from the cabin?

If it's older than 15 years you may be able to put it on a classic policy. My 1989 MX-5 import costs me £110 per year fully comp on a 5000 mile policy with RH Specialist Insurance. They didn't care about NCB at all - previously had quotes from Admiral for £600(!) on their Multicar and £300 from Adrian Flux.

The deep scratch would not have been caused by rubbing of the old spoiler over time (which I would class as a normal "mark" when removing a piece of trim after a period of time), the dent probably not either but you could argue that someone may have sat on it previously. The poor prep work would depend on whether they were asked to prep the spoiler first but you would at least expect them to ask.
It looks like they have made a pig's ear of removing the old spoiler and then not painted the new one properly (orange peel lacquer), you are well within your rights to ask them to put those bits right.
-
I find the clutch a bit "high" on my car also so went to have a look at where mine is sitting - I can just about see one thread above the U bracket so am a bit scared to fiddle with it in case I turn it the wrong way or the locknut undoes it! Will probably give it a go though.
-
You can fit a signal booster thing to fix the dodgy sound quality with the Bose speakers and I happen to have one for sale - let me know if interested.
-
To answer my own question, I should have RTFM. "off" is position 1, "on"is position 3. Having done the reset the Z is behaving itself again so all is well.
-
Thanks for that Hassan - I agree and they look great, so if anyone has any Nismo rear spats for sale I would be interested.
